Beach House Watercolor by Carol Jurczak

GUEST ARTIST: “Beach House Restaurant” by Carol Jurczak

This lovely doodlewash comes from Carol Jurczak (@jurczac on Instagram), in Northern California. Carol has always been interested in art and for many years found pockets of time to paint (originally only in oils), while raising 3 kids and working full time.

When she retired, she decided it was time to seriously pursue her lifelong passion for art and also start exploring other mediums. She began with watercolors and well…lets just say she was hopelessly doodlewashed!  I did mention before that this whole doodlewash thing is addictive right? So happy Carol caught the bug because her watercolor sketches are absolutely wonderful!

In her words, “Nothing could have prepared me for it. It makes me smile!!!! I took one class, watched a ton of videos, read a lot and then joined a nine-month plein air class using watercolor as my medium. I was hooked!!!”

This summer Carol decided to do only sketch book painting. She had no idea how much she would enjoy it! For her, it’s been a great way to capture memories while at the same time improving her drawing and painting skills. Pretty cool bonus, right? And she says she’s discovered the best part of doodlewashing – meeting others who share this same passion. “What a great community of artists!” she says. (We agree! So many wonderful people!) Though Carol has no idea where her art journey will lead, she knows she will continue sketching and painting and sharing her art. (Which we wholeheartedly support! So many amazing doodlewashes yet to come!)

She says, “It’s truly a passion! My deepest desire is to use this God-given gift to share the beauty of the world God created. My website will soon be populated and I’ll see what happens from there.”
