So “cat” is not a particularly unusual entry for C, but a couple people suggested a cranky cat and this made me think of Grumpy Cat. Not many cats have reached the levels of celebrity stardom that this one has so I thought she would be fun to doodlewash. Her real name is Tarder Sauce, she’ll be 4 years old in April and she’s from Morristown, Arizona. And best of all, she can cutely get away with the face that all of us wish we could make during work meetings.

Grumpy Cat’s permanent scowl has made her an internet sensation and netted her an annual income that’s larger than many Hollywood stars. She was also apparently named 2012’s most influential cat by MSNBC. There have been memes galore, books, and even movies starring this unusual little feline. Her award-winning quirks are actually caused by an underbite and feline dwarfism, which I guess would be rather odd to capitalize on if she were your actual child.

But nevertheless, this little cat has been the poster child for what we have all been thinking at some point or another. Whether she’s grumpy or just prophetic I’ll leave you to judge, but Grumpy Cat is rich so I’m sure she doesn’t really care at all what we think of her. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and nothing makes you frown. Tomorrow is the letter D, so please share your ideas for what I should doodlewash in the comments!

  1. I am not a cat person per se, but I love Grumpy Cat. He makes me smile, and I wonder what it will take to make him less grumpy🙂 Spot on rendition, Charlie. Happy weekend to you and Phillipe!

  2. So grumpy! Though I could spend far too long laughing and awwing at cat videos online, I’ve never actually seen Tarder Sauce (hearing that took some recovery – what a name!) but I have heard a lot about Grumpy Cat. Your doodlewash certainly chimes with all of that – great stuff Charles!

Another vote for Dragon. Also: D is for Dinosaur. Diamonds. Doll’s house. Doughnuts!

    1. Hehe…thanks Jacob!! Glad you liked this grumpy feline. Yeah…the real name is a bit odd though. Poor little thing can’t win! Lol And dinosaurs are sort of dragon-like…that would be cool. Of course now I can’t think of anything but doughnuts… 😋😊😊

      1. HI Charlie, its always great when other people have so many ideas, its just a question of whether those subjects resonate enough to Do! oh… and Time!
someone said Diamonds, what about dragons defending a dark Diamond. ohh.. too late! shoot! lol Letter E now. escalator filled with elated eels🙂

      2. yup! As the creator, you have to be ‘into the subject’ to do it.
Someone else’s thoughts or wants, really don’t override that. The ‘elated eels on the escalor’ was pretty much tongue in cheek; the Visual amused me🙂

  3. Now that is one unhappy cat! Lol! 😼 Thanks for the smiles, my friend! 😄💕 Hmmm, letter “d” is for “Debbie Downer,” from SNL – my fav is the one at Disney World! 😜 Or Daffy Duck, daffodils and dog! Darn it, Charlie, can’t wait to see what amazing Doodlewash you DO next! 😄👍🎨 hehe!
