Once I saw the prompt of “bubbly” today, I realized that I’ve made quite a few bubbly doodlewashes recently, so I wanted to try a macro view for something a little different. This is a bit of fruit in something that could only be champagne. I’ve very little time to paint lately as I’ve been tweaking and fixing bugs on my website. But, things are moving along quite nicely, so I felt like celebrating with a little imaginary glass of champagne. I don’t have any in the house at the moment, or I’d be celebrating properly, so this will serve as a symbolic toast to everyone out there. You’re all amazing! And a special toast to those of you who have jumped in and helped me test some of the fun new beta community features on Doodlewash. It’s a wild new adventure ahead and I’m excited to see things slowly moving in the right direction. Much more to come and more bugs to fix, but hopefully we’re getting closer to the official launch of something amazing!

I’m not entirely sure why I picked something this ridiculously complex today. I had no time at all and yet, I chose a wildly complex image to try and paint. I think I must be feeling a bit in a challenge mode. I’m ready to fight for what I want and certain that anything is possible. It feels rather nice. Whether you’re making a website or trying to figure out how to render an object onto paper with watercolor, it’s all about problem-solving. There’s always a million ways to solve it and it’s just a matter of figuring out the way that works best for you. The cool part is, whatever comes out is truly unique to the person creating it. In the case of Doodlewash, and the new community that’s forming right here, we’ll be creating things together and that’s even more awesome! As ever, if you have a problem logging into this site and creating your profile, or other issues, please let me know by contacting me here. I can’t possibly test every scenario, or guess at what would be cool to have, so your feedback really helps!

Much more awesome things to come, of course, but taking things one little step at a time on this site, so thanks in advance for your patience. I’ve wondered over this past week if I’m just a touch crazy to try all these new things. But then I realized that trying new things is pretty much what makes life amazing. When I started this little site back in 2015, I made a manifesto that I still use today. It’s never changed because it was the right idea to begin with. All of it can simply be summed up with one word – DO! That’s the first step to achieving absolutely anything you want in life, not just art. It’s the little icon I see each day I log in to Doodlewash and it always makes me smile. That tiny little reminder that every dream deserves a chance to become reality. Maybe I’m crazy, but I hope it’s the kind of crazy that comes off as a touch endearing. Either way, I know that when I commit to actually doing something I’ve been dreaming about, it’s impossible not to feel a bit bubbly.
