So after a lot of great suggestions including words I had to actually Google because I had no idea what they were, I decided on the most mentioned word, alligator. In this case, a baby alligator because they’re just cuter and less frightening than the full grown version. Also, he fit better in my sketchbook.
I posted last month about baby turtles and how baby alligators used to be a popular pet for tourists so I won’t repeat myself. That said, I’m not entirely sure what I have to say about alligators. I could mention that I think this is an American alligator, but the only other living species is the Chinese alligator and I really couldn’t tell a significant difference. Like attempting to discern the gender of a cat. So this could be Chinese, I’m not entirely sure.
I’m running super short of time so these posts may be rather short until I can find a way to sneak a little more time into my day. That’s also why this little guy was sketched quickly in sepia and only got three colors. But I think it works for him or her (I can’t really tell the gender of alligators either). Tomorrow is B… anything fun that comes to mind for you that begins with the letter “B”?

So adorable looking! Your paintings are great, and as the case with this fellow, 3 colors are enough to bring out the cuteness factor. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Haunani!! 💕😃 So glad you like him. I was moving quickly but was pleased with how he turned out. I really liked trying to get the most out of limited palettes! Hehe
This little guy is so cute! Nicely done!
Okay, I’m gonna spew a few “b” words here… ball, botany, beach, bear, banana split (if a two-word suggestion counts)!
Yay!! All great B words!! Appreciate it! Ohhh…and I have no idea if two-word words count (really making things up as I go along) but I love banana splits!! 😃😃❤️
Now, when you see them like that, you can *almost* see why they were so popular to tourists. It doesn’t, however, make the concept any less stupid or insane. Wonderful doodlewash, Charlie! He (I’m not going to check either) has a very nice scaly look to him.
B is for Batman! Baboon! Brass band! Bicycle! Bermuda shorts! (I’m out of ideas)
Thanks Jacob!! I wished I had more time to give him proper details and make him even shinier, but this one went too quick. Love those words!! Yeah…total Batman fan. I’ve never tried a bicycle…hmmm… Hehe… 😃
Maybe you could try the Batmobile? A bicycle would be interesting – I’ve never dared draw one of those – all those lines and circles!
Hehe…I think a Batmobile would be far easier than a bicycle. I’ve been avoiding them too. 😊😊
Cute but stern. Baseball…pitchers and catchers is sneaking up on us. (K)
It is! At least I think that’s why I read somewhere. Hehe😊I’m clueless when it comes to sports
I’m sure they are talking about it in Kansas City!
I could not tell you were rushing…it is SO freakin’ cute! <3
Awww thanks Teresa!! 💕😃I’m so happy it doesn’t look rushed. Because I think I was actually winded by the end trying to cram it in before dinner! Lol
Who knew baby alligators could be so cute.
A Bonanza of Balloons.
Thanks! Glad you like him! I think all baby animals are cute! 😊That word sounds color and fun!!
I like the Sepia ink on this little guy or gal! Great gator, Charlie – and I like the colors you used. 😊💕 As for the letter B, here are some ideas: boots (I saw a really cute red pair I’d like to buy), begonias, butterscotch candies, butterflies and bathrobe. Hehe! 😜
Thanks Jill!! 💕😃I’m kind of loving my sepia Lamy pen. It’s just a bit more subtle than black ink and easier to hide all my mistakes when I paint it. 😊lol And yay!! Those are great words!! I’m just sort of compiling all these words in my head and seeing what suddenly inspires me tomorrow. Hehe!! 😊
Looking forward to it, Charlie! 💖🎨😃
Allie Alligator is AWESOME!!! Better be a big burly bear being brushed 🙂
Love that name!! Hehe…❤️❤️😃 And wow…that’s a lot of b’s in one doodlewash. Love it too!!
What a cute little fellow, a good start for the alphabet. Beautifully painted , Charlie.
Thanks Sharon!! 💕😃Just 25 more and a conclusion to go! Oh wow…that sounds like a lot. 😊lol
I love the surprises ahead!
I love him!! And it may be the cutest alligator I’ve seen! I really miss doodlewashing myself.. Maybe this weekend!! ❤️
Awww thanks!! 💕😃I figured they’re cuter as babies. And yes please!! You need to doodlewash!! 😉👍🏻🎨
Very handsome alligator! I think limited time really works for you Charlie! I immediately thought baboon and bicycle…together mind you, baboon riding a bike…with a baseball cap, okay maybe not all of that but at least a baboon.
Thanks Cathe!! 💕😃Haha…a baboon on a bicycle would be awesome. I don’t have time for it though…ugh…at some point I’m going to do a fun combo like that though! Probably on the weekend. 😊hehe
Very cute, Charlie! And such detail too! Bravo my friend. Bravo! Also, beauty, billowing come to mind. Not sure why lol! Blue. Brash. Brusque. Button. Blue banana! Hehe! Enjoy your challenge, my friend!
Thanks sis!! ❤️😃hehe…and love those words. Brash and Brusque are my favorite. Hehe… Not sure if this one today will qualify or not but I haven’t doodlewashed it yet! 😉hehe
Yay, looking forward to it Charlie! 😀
B is for badger. Butterfly. Or bat.
Badger is the only thing I haven’t tried…hehe… The bat I made looked downright scary! Lol
I love the perky character you’ve captured here, Charlie, it looks like it could talk!
Awww thanks Phil! This turned out cuter than I expected based on the subject. Lol Glad you liked him! (Her?)
Bees, bees, bees! I’m sure that whatever you do will be fun. Looking forward to day 2.
Hehe…I do need to try a bee at some point!! Thanks Michael!! 😃
Fabulous alligator, wouldn’t want to meet his big brother though!
Thanks Tori! 💕😃Haha! Me either! These things are scary when they get big! 😳
Most assuredly a less frightening version then a full grown one! Well done. “B” is for bobsleigh, bobcat, bobbin…. if it was bird day you could doodle a bobolink! 🙂
Yeah the babies are far cuter aren’t they?! Hehe.. Thanks Susan! 💕😃I have to look up bobolink…hadn’t heard of that!😊hehe
A challenge! Yeah me. 🙂
‘…fit in your sketchbook…” a huge lol. 😉
boobies, brickbats (think about that one), bowsers of the petrol kind.
Haha!! I would have been soooo disappointed if you hadn’t suggested boobies, Janina!! ❤️😃lol
Boobies…do you know which ones I’m referring to?!! :green:
Lol…there’s only one kind here. 😉What kind are you referring to?
LOL…the winged kind! 😀
Ohhhhh…I had to google it to see what they were. 😊
Did you find a blue-footed booby? They’re cute! <3
Yes! After getting lots of other types of boobies first. 😊😊
Well, whichever type of ‘booby’ you decide on, perhaps when you do a second round of animals, they could make for a cute B doodlewash! 🙂
I’ll definitely have to try one one day…the animal kind of course. 😉lol
Good! 😉 Look forward to seeing it here…cheer-io
