So after a lot of great suggestions including words I had to actually Google because I had no idea what they were, I decided on the most mentioned word, alligator. In this case, a baby alligator because they’re just cuter and less frightening than the full grown version. Also, he fit better in my sketchbook.

I posted last month about baby turtles and how baby alligators used to be a popular pet for tourists so I won’t repeat myself. That said, I’m not entirely sure what I have to say about alligators. I could mention that I think this is an American alligator, but the only other living species is the Chinese alligator and I really couldn’t tell a significant difference. Like attempting to discern the gender of a cat. So this could be Chinese, I’m not entirely sure.

I’m running super short of time so these posts may be rather short until I can find a way to sneak a little more time into my day. That’s also why this little guy was sketched quickly in sepia and only got three colors. But I think it works for him or her (I can’t really tell the gender of alligators either). Tomorrow is B… anything fun that comes to mind for you that begins with the letter “B”?

  1. Now, when you see them like that, you can *almost* see why they were so popular to tourists. It doesn’t, however, make the concept any less stupid or insane. Wonderful doodlewash, Charlie! He (I’m not going to check either) has a very nice scaly look to him.

B is for Batman! Baboon! Brass band! Bicycle! Bermuda shorts! (I’m out of ideas)

  2. I like the Sepia ink on this little guy or gal! Great gator, Charlie – and I like the colors you used. 😊💕 As for the letter B, here are some ideas: boots (I saw a really cute red pair I’d like to buy), begonias, butterscotch candies, butterflies and bathrobe. Hehe! 😜

    1. Thanks Jill!! 💕😃I’m kind of loving my sepia Lamy pen. It’s just a bit more subtle than black ink and easier to hide all my mistakes when I paint it. 😊lol And yay!! Those are great words!! I’m just sort of compiling all these words in my head and seeing what suddenly inspires me tomorrow. Hehe!! 😊

  3. Very handsome alligator! I think limited time really works for you Charlie! I immediately thought baboon and bicycle…together mind you, baboon riding a bike…with a baseball cap, okay maybe not all of that but at least a baboon.
