As we close the week, I’m feeling a bit tired, so I only had a quick moment to make this little bell pepper for today’s prompt. I’m not really sure what to say about bell peppers other than I prefer the orange ones most. They’re the kind in the middle, not bright yellow and not bright red, just a bit of both in balance. Moving into the weekend, after a busy and stressful week, a bit of balance is a perfect way to begin. For those following along, there were some sudden and mysterious issues with uploading images to the site gallery this week, and its now been placed in the hands of tech support to sort out properly, so thanks for your continued patience. Hopefully, we’ll get a fix implemented soon. In the meantime, I’ve just poured a lovely glass of wine and am winding down for the night. If wine isn’t your thing, then feel free to pour a glass whatever you enjoy most and have a fantastic weekend!
We don’t really have many plans this weekend, having spent the last one in Chicago we’re going to keep things pretty low key. There’s a Picasso exhibit at the art gallery and I think we’ll make a stop and see that. Otherwise, it’s going to be a lot of being lazy whenever possible and doing a bit of food shopping for Thanksgiving later this week. I’m so excited as this Thursday marks the official start of the holiday season. The time of year when my inner child goes a bit crazy and starts making lists for Santa in his head. Sure, retail stores started celebrating in mid-October, but that’s just too soon to take seriously. My tradition growing up was to always have a big Thanksgiving feast and then sometime over the long weekend put up a Christmas tree. This is one tradition that is still too early for Philippe so I always have to be a bit persuasive to make it happen sooner. I just think that having the most time possible to enjoy a lovely sparkling tree filled with ornamental memories is the best thing in the world!
And in the end, despite the constant challenges of creating a site as crazy complex as this one, I’m thrilled that so many of you have joined me in this little experiment. It’s all still an adventure and there’s many wonderful and amazing things ahead. But at the heart of it all, it’s about creating, painting, and making wonderful new things. Finding that bit of time each day, no matter what craziness is afoot to create something new. I’ve been doing it for over two years now, and can honestly state that it’s entirely possible. I’m a super busy guy, mostly self-inflicted, of course, but I manage to make a little doodlewash each day. I hope, if nothing else, it can help inspire others to do the same. All it takes is a bit of determination, combined with a ridiculously positive attitude, mixed with a little pepper.

That pepper looks deliciously crisp. Love the shine.
My fave is also orange. And you can really paint those peppers!!
Aww thanks, Kaye! 😃💕 Yeah, the orange ones are the best!
Thanks so much, Susan! 😃💕
Your Doodlewash journey has certainly inspired me! I love the colors you’ve used today – ouch! More paint that I must buy… though it is getting close to Christmas. It’s possible that hubby has just discovered what he’s getting me for Christmas, lol!
Aww thanks, Sandra! 😃💕 And hehe… yay!! Christmas is the best time of year for artists I think. All those supplies we just couldn’t quite justify can now happen! lol
The pepper is perfect,
Hoping your weekend is too.
Thanks so much! Hope yours is as well! 😃💕
The orange peppers really are the best and this one is perfect.
Aww thanks so much, June! 😃💕
Do you think there will ever be a blue pepper? Would be kind of cool, don’t you think? Just think of the possibilities with orange peppers… 😜💙 Your pepper looks perfect Charlie! ❤️ Cheers to relaxing this weekend! 🍷
Thanks, Jill!! 😃💕 Hope you’re having an awesome weekend… hehe… yeah… there isn’t any real blue food in general. Even blueberries are a bit purple. I think a blue pepper would be my favorite if it existed! lol
Love your orange pepper. I think the orange ones have the most lutein or zeaxanthin which are good for your eyes.
Awesome!! Bonus then!! hehe Yay! Thanks so much, Sharon! 😃💕
adorable little pepper. Our tree is up already. We had maintenance in today to fix something and he looked surprised to see the tree. My answer was “you never know what’s coming so enjoy everything you can as early as possible. It’s pretty and makes me happy.” Glad it makes you happy too. Let me be the first to say, Merry Christmas Charlie! Hehehe.
Aww thanks, Jennifer! 😃💕 I agree… if it makes us happy, we should always go ahead and do it. It’s never to “early” to be happy!!
Yummy pepper! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for all you do for us, Charlie.
Thanks so much, Mary! Have a wonderful weekend as well! 😃💕
Beautiful pepper, love the shine, someday I hope to be able to accomplish shine with watercolor…
Thanks, Pamela! 😃💕 Shine just takes a lot of contrast, which when I started, was tough in watercolor. Now I just go for it! hehe
Lovely colors in your pepper. May your weekend be just as lovely. Thank you again for all of your hard work Charlie. You are truly appreciated.
Thanks so much, Laura! 😃💕 I hope you have an amazing weekend as well!
Hey….I like this pepper….as a veg I would always like to have it in my breakfast….but unfortunately it is very costly in our country….:(
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it! 😃💕 Yeah, there are many vegetables here I crave but get a bit costly… peppers aren’t among the cheapest, but they’re so good.
Lovely pepper! I love how amazing a mixture of green, red, orange and yellow peppers look being tossed around in an olive oil coated frying pan. Fingers crossed for you on the site tech support. I hope the can solve the problems for ya. Cheers to an excellent weekend! Tom
Thanks so much, Tom! 😃💕 (P.S…. if you’re having troubles uploading you can still use the image icon in the lower right to share your work in the meantime😉 Hoping they’ll come up with a solve next week!). Anything with olive oil gets my vote! YUM! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
I think everyone here is thankful this Thanksgiving for you, Charlie, and this site you originated. Hope you get the biggest part of the turkey wishbone and that all your dreams come true.
Aww that’s so sweet! Thanks, Kaye! 😃💕 Yes, the biggest part of the wishbone is a wonderful tradition!! Fun!!
Orange is my favorite color, so your pepper makes me smile. And you have definitely inspired me to paint everyday.
Aww… I’m so happy to know that! Yay! 😃💕
Lovely contours.
Thanks so much, Sharon! 😃💕
