As we close the week, I’m feeling a bit tired, so I only had a quick moment to make this little bell pepper for today’s prompt. I’m not really sure what to say about bell peppers other than I prefer the orange ones most. They’re the kind in the middle, not bright yellow and not bright red, just a bit of both in balance. Moving into the weekend, after a busy and stressful week, a bit of balance is a perfect way to begin. For those following along, there were some sudden and mysterious issues with uploading images to the site gallery this week, and its now been placed in the hands of tech support to sort out properly, so thanks for your continued patience. Hopefully, we’ll get a fix implemented soon. In the meantime, I’ve just poured a lovely glass of wine and am winding down for the night. If wine isn’t your thing, then feel free to pour a glass whatever you enjoy most and have a fantastic weekend!

We don’t really have many plans this weekend, having spent the last one in Chicago we’re going to keep things pretty low key. There’s a Picasso exhibit at the art gallery and I think we’ll make a stop and see that. Otherwise, it’s going to be a lot of being lazy whenever possible and doing a bit of food shopping for Thanksgiving later this week. I’m so excited as this Thursday marks the official start of the holiday season. The time of year when my inner child goes a bit crazy and starts making lists for Santa in his head. Sure, retail stores started celebrating in mid-October, but that’s just too soon to take seriously. My tradition growing up was to always have a big Thanksgiving feast and then sometime over the long weekend put up a Christmas tree. This is one tradition that is still too early for Philippe so I always have to be a bit persuasive to make it happen sooner. I just think that having the most time possible to enjoy a lovely sparkling tree filled with ornamental memories is the best thing in the world!

And in the end, despite the constant challenges of creating a site as crazy complex as this one, I’m thrilled that so many of you have joined me in this little experiment. It’s all still an adventure and there’s many wonderful and amazing things ahead. But at the heart of it all, it’s about creating, painting, and making wonderful new things. Finding that bit of time each day, no matter what craziness is afoot to create something new. I’ve been doing it for over two years now, and can honestly state that it’s entirely possible. I’m a super busy guy, mostly self-inflicted, of course, but I manage to make a little doodlewash each day. I hope, if nothing else, it can help inspire others to do the same. All it takes is a bit of determination, combined with a ridiculously positive attitude, mixed with a little pepper.

  1. Your Doodlewash journey has certainly inspired me! I love the colors you’ve used today – ouch! More paint that I must buy… though it is getting close to Christmas. It’s possible that hubby has just discovered what he’s getting me for Christmas, lol!

  2. Do you think there will ever be a blue pepper? Would be kind of cool, don’t you think? Just think of the possibilities with orange peppers… 😜💙 Your pepper looks perfect Charlie! ❤️ Cheers to relaxing this weekend! 🍷

    1. Thanks, Jill!! 😃💕 Hope you’re having an awesome weekend… hehe… yeah… there isn’t any real blue food in general. Even blueberries are a bit purple. I think a blue pepper would be my favorite if it existed! lol

  3. adorable little pepper. Our tree is up already. We had maintenance in today to fix something and he looked surprised to see the tree. My answer was “you never know what’s coming so enjoy everything you can as early as possible. It’s pretty and makes me happy.” Glad it makes you happy too. Let me be the first to say, Merry Christmas Charlie! Hehehe.

  4. Lovely pepper! I love how amazing a mixture of green, red, orange and yellow peppers look being tossed around in an olive oil coated frying pan. Fingers crossed for you on the site tech support. I hope the can solve the problems for ya. Cheers to an excellent weekend! Tom

    1. Thanks so much, Tom! 😃💕 (P.S…. if you’re having troubles uploading you can still use the image icon in the lower right to share your work in the meantime😉 Hoping they’ll come up with a solve next week!). Anything with olive oil gets my vote! YUM! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
