With very little time to go until the start of World Watercolor Month, depending on where you live, I’m getting super excited! It’s always amazing to see so many watercolors from so many different artists all over the world. If you’re taking on the optional 31 day challenge, then here’s wishing you a truly amazing month! You’ll have such a wonderful personal gallery at the end! Even if you’re not, please remember to hashtag each watercolor you post in July with #WorldWatercolorMonth so we can link to your lovely work in real-time in this year’s awesome new social gallery on Doodlewash.com. Be a part of the global celebration! I love that with all of the issues in the world today, we can come together as a united global group and celebrate. Since today’s prompt was snow cones, I chose a rainbow snow cone to illustrate the wonderful diversity that the month brings. Not only cultures coming together, but various styles and approaches to the medium itself. Let’s paint the world with watercolor in July!
A true celebration is even better, of course, when it comes with some lovely gifts. Thanks to this years’ amazing sponsors, that’s exactly what’s coming up next! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be giving away thousands of dollars worth of wonderful gifts to lucky winners of the various giveaways coming up as well as free sample to readers of this blog. If you love to “read more,” then you’ll have the chance to immediately win free samples, simply by commenting on my posts (WordPress Reader friends, there’s a known glitch in the WordPress.com system that programmers are working to fix, so you might have to pop over to my website in order to comment until they do). To make it even more fun, I’ll be including a special code in each blog post so you’ll need to mention it in your comment to sign up to receive the free sample. Yeah, you’ll have to actually read my little ramblings in order to get it. Each person will only be able to get an individual sample once, but there will be several to get throughout the month so stayed tuned each day in July!
I hope each of you will join me and the rest of the world in the celebration of this amazing medium. Making whatever your heart desires and sharing it with all of us to enjoy! If you get stumped, you can try these wonderful prompts from my friend Angela Fehr, who has some amazing things of her own to share to celebrate the month, that I’ll be sharing with all of you shortly! July is going to be the most amazing month in the history of watercolor, so please join us for all of the festivities. Together we can make a difference in the world by putting more and more beauty into it with each and every painting we make. And please, consider making a donation to The Dreaming Zebra Foundation to help our future artists learn and grow. There’s so much good that we can bring to the world if we ignore our differences and enjoy the wonderful things we all have in common. By coming together we can make a lovely and diverse palette of color and joy, like a happy child might find in the thrill of a rainbow snow cone.
