When thinking about bubbles for today’s prompt, my mind first jumped to champagne, but wanting something with a bit more color, I opted for a carafe of fruity mineral water. As many of you already know, I’m a huge fan of bubbly water. There’s just something more fun and alive about this version. I also love that these carbonated drinks are called “sparkling” as that’s just a lovely word one might use to describe a diamond. I hope that when I get older, I’ll be able to look back on my life and use a similar description. Amazing things don’t have to happen every day, just a life filled with plenty of those little moments that, like little bubbles, make me smile. I’ve found that I don’t have to worry about creating moments like this, I just have to watch for them as they appear. They’re always there, like a refreshing drink, waiting to boost my spirits just a touch, and make an otherwise ordinary day rather extraordinary.
When I was a kid, literally everything captured my interest and made me happy. Every trip to a new place always turned into a field trip where I’d want to learn and study whatever I’d just experienced. This hasn’t changed very much as an adult. Several years ago, after a trip to the botanical gardens I was consumed with wanting to grow my own herbs. It was something shiny and new. This hobby was probably one of my shortest. As it turns out, I’m horrible at gardening, lacking both the skill and patience to keep things alive properly. Which, I’m told, is a fairly importance part of the process. But the lack of longevity didn’t make it any less amazing. It was another shiny happy moment where I just let myself get excited about something as though I were a kid again. That feeling of bubbly exuberance and excitement when trying something new is intoxicating. And those times are always the most memorable moments I’ve ever enjoyed.
As I get older, there are so many things that I’ve now already tried, and some I might not try again. But no matter how much I think I now know, I’m still amazed at how much more there is to discover. There are little happy bubbles everywhere, just waiting to climb to the surface and reveal themselves. I know I should make more intentional goals, but I always end up just riding the bubbles to see where they take me next. So far, it’s somehow worked out for me. Most likely because, things tend to work out best when I’m chasing my joy. Exciting things are always just around the corner when I allow myself to embrace them. And so, I may not accomplish all the goals that pop into my mind or do the long list of things I’ve imagined I would like to do. But, in the end, none of this will really matter. At the very least, I’ll be able to look back on all those little moments, big and small, and smile, knowing that through it all, I’ve had a sparkling life.

Looks so cool and refreshing, as per usual! Sparkling is a great word; what could be better than a life full of little bubbles? How wonderful.
Thanks so much, Jacob! 😃💕 hehe… isn’t sparkling great? I want to use it more in conversations now. hehe
What a beautiful painting this is!
I’m not much on drinking alcohol – not even wine – but I do enjoy a sweet champagne once or twice a year. But one of the most fun things I did was to pop open the champagne bottles at our younger son’s outdoor wedding. The corks went everywhere! Someone told me it was a bit dangerous, so I turned so the corks would fly into the woods. Still lotsa fun.
I’m with you on gardening, Charlie. I really hate plastic plants but they’re about the only ones I have any success at keeping alive. But I love living plants. Someone else has to keep them alive.
Thanks, Sharon! 😃💕 LOL… I always tend to make the corks pop in all directions. Philippe now insists that he open every bottle of champagne. He has some special way where he holds the top and twists the bottle of the bottle instead. And I’m with you on plants… I LOVE the real thing, but they wilt the second they see me turning the corner.
(Don’t tell him, but Philippe is no fun!)
Lol… he’s actually a blast, but he does have to keep me in check a lot of the time. 😊
Aahh, my favourite beverage is a plain sparkling mineral water or soda water. I luv how the fizz gets up my nose and splatters tiny spots onto my spectacles! Fzzz. 🍶 Your carafe looks delicious charlie.
Thanks, Janina! 😃💕 hehe… yeah, the fizz on the nose is the best part. Another reason to smile!!
your art work is superb here…I must let you know the toys available for bubbles made me LOL..looks like one can take an eggbeater into the bath for special effects…really cool toys I saw ….
Aww thanks so much, glad you liked the doodlewash! 😃💕 Lol…. yeah, that link was actually an accident! I realized it was there and wasn’t sure how it got there and then removed it! Too funny!!
“Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle”. by Arielle J
Excellent quote!! Love it! 😃
The drawing at the top looks very cool. Did you make it yourself? The whole blog was nice to read!
Thanks so much!! 😃💕 Yep, every post written by me includes something I illustrated. So happy you liked it!
The fruit looks like it’s floating in space! Happy is definitely the word for the week. I can always count on you for some daily cheer. (K)
Aww thanks, Kerfe! 😃💕 Hehe… I think the fruit is being elvated by the bubbles.
Sparkling colors! What a nice moment.
Thanks so much, Jose! 😃💕
Charlie, both your paintings and your writings are like the bubbly water in this post! They remind us to look for those ‘happy’ things that float about us like water, and to realize that like water, they are precious and most necessary for life.
That’s such a sweet and humbling comment, Sandra! Thank you so much!! 😃💕
