Written by For Day 24 of World Watercolor Month and our optional prompt of “Soft,” I sketched a bunny rabbit reading a book on a pillow and some blankets. There’s nothing I adore more than curling up somewhere soft to read a good book. Usually, I can never find the time until the last few minutes in bed before I drift off to sleep. The only problem with getting so comfortable at the end of a long day is that I’m usually only able to read a chapter or two before losing consciousness. While I would like to be able to stay awake a bit longer, it feels so good to be ridiculously cozy, but it always makes me super sleepy. I think that’s wonderful, though! So much of my life is filled with long to-do lists and deadlines, so those times where I get to simply relax and enjoy a moment that’s just for me are rare and beautiful. Even if that extra comfy time typically ends in a bit of a nap, it’s still one of my favorite parts of the day!
During July, I have very little free time since I’m hosting World Watercolor Month. Though, it’s so exciting and fun and I happily get wrapped up in the event! That said, this month seems to be rushing by faster than I can keep up with it. Each time I post it feels like it’s already time to post again. So, if you’ve managed to keep up with me during this month, thank you so much for reading my rambles and commenting. I truly appreciate it! And, I hope that you’ve found fun ways to relax this month yourself. With my childlike enthusiasm for most everything, I tend to forget to chill out sometimes. I’m like that overeager kid who raises his hand and volunteers for everything. But, I’ve been so happy with many of my sketches this month as they’ve pushed me to new territory and I’ve learned a ton along the way.
Philippe and I are going to take some time off at the end of the month. I hadn’t taken next Monday off work since we’re coming back from our little trip on Sunday, but then Philippe told me that he had. My Inner Child got a bit jealous and I said, “I want that day off too!!” So, I’m taking it off as well, which will be good timing with it being the final day of World Watercolor Month. Oh, and that means this week is the last chance to get awesome souvenirs from the shop! So, if you haven’t yet, be sure to check them out before they’re gone forever! I’m really looking forward to this weekend. Philippe and I have never taken a long road trip together before, so this will be a brand new experience. Though, if we can survive international travel together, this will seem just easy and fun! Best of all, it’s with our closest friends in a location we’ve never all been to before. Right now, the weather is threatening to be super hot, so it seems like we might end up indoors a bit more than we had planned. That’s fine by me. There’s nothing better than to be with the people you love, all comfy cozy!

Hi Marisela! Haha thanks, I see hilarity in most things and sometimes when I wake in the night and can’t get back to sleep (should pretend to sit couch and read) I think of something hilarious and start to cackle. The upstairs must think I am insane by now.

Hola, Charlie! How exciting to be going anywhere! I haven’t been anywhere in a long time. 😂😂😂 I love being cozy. We don’t get really cold, but it can get downright chilly. My mom gave me flannel sheets and I have a light blanket and then my comforter. Charlie, I slept so good! It felt like a warm sleeping bag. Best sleep of my life!
