Today we have a little afternoon snack that I was dreaming about this afternoon. This is not sketched from life as it wouldn’t have lasted long enough to actually sketch it. As it was, I have very little time so this is a fast and loose doodlewash for this entry. Anything with whipped cream, and I suddenly lose all will power and start devouring it. This thought seemed uncouth to me, so I got to thinking about a lovely little afternoon spot of tea with a nice little biscuit and something sweet to go with it. Anything plated like this always encourages a fair amount of restraint. Oh, you could go all animal wild on it, but something about the look of it all, makes one pause and take things one little bite at a time.
As I rush to complete this post, I realize I probably need to take things one little bite at a time more. I get so excited and enthralled by so many things that I’m bouncing around like a pinball and never really sure where I’ll land next. Tonight, I’m going to relax with friends and enjoy the evening slowly. It’s been a long time since I’ve slowed down, so I’m going to give it a go and see what happens. I hope all of you are enjoying a wonderful evening, morning, or whatever time it is where you live! If there’s whipped cream where you are, please refrain from telling me, as I’d only be jealous.

Tea Time
A biscuit and a spot of tea
if it’s not sweet
I’m incomplete
so pass me a glob of cream
(whipped of course)
and watch me beam
hehe! Lovely pome, Judy! Thanks! 😃💕
Yummy and delicious looking. I must say again, Charlie, you are so talented at painting white surfaces, metals, shadows, and glass. You enchant me with every painting.
And now I’m hungry – won’t be as tasty as your snack, but food is food. <3
Awww thanks, Sharon! 😃💕So glad you like this! And haha! Yes to that! Food is food and I love it all! hehe
Even when you do things fast, they turn out wonderful. Happy to hear you are relaxing tonight.
Awww thanks so much for that, Teri! 😃💕And yes! I was a very nice evening!
Bouncing around like a pinball…hard to stop, that’s for sure. I hope you’ve managed it! In the meantime, the tea kettle is calling. (K)
hehe… I’m doing the best that I can! But having a heck of a lot of fun along the way! Thanks, Kerfe! 😃💕

Awww thanks, Jodi! 😃💕 I had a fabulous evening! It does go long and nicely slow with friends… (and wine, of course! hehe)
Yummy and beautiful doodlewash Charlie, I’m like you, whipped cream is a staple in the refrigerator.
Excellent! Glad you approve and agree! hehe… it’s the BEST! Thanks Sharon! 😃💕
Have a great evening, once again you have made me feel hungry….I like the ‘ one bite at a time’ I agree with Sharon, you are superb at these shiny reflective surfaces.
Thanks so much, Rebecca! I needed a little rest… hehe… sometimes I just get to excited and do too many things at once! Glad you liked this one! 😃💕

awww thanks! Glad ya liked this! 😃💕
Don’t be ashamed of whipped cream. I was just thinking about it today. Yum! It keeps a person looking young.
Thanks! 😃💕Excellent! I’m going to remember that always!! LOL Then I should roughly resemble a teenager by this point with as much as I’ve consumed. 😊
Elegant and delectable. Beautiful painting, love the idea of restraint…having to admit the idea of having a “go all animal wild” moment with biscuits, jam, and yes, whipped cream…is making me giggle. Thank you for sharing your art of watercolors and smiles.
Awww thanks so much, Haunani! 😃💕 I’ve never actually one all animal wild on whipped cream, but I’ve sure thought about! 😊lol
Ha, the presentation definitely influences your behaviour – especially when they look this charming. How inviting (and typically scrummy)! The nibbles would be painfully refined, but speedy. 😉 Maybe someone needs to intervene and give you a good tilt or whatever it is that stops you from playing a pinball machine any longer. (Maybe you could doodlewash a pinball machine!)
Thanks Jacob!! 😃Oh wow…doodlewashing a pinball machine sounds hard!! But you should create one in 3D!! That would be awesome!!
Ooh, maybe! But yes, they’re pretty intricate aren’t they!
Charlie, I think Bon Appetite or Food and Wine or some other culinary magazines should hire you as a food illustrator!!
Awww thanks so much, Beverly!! What a wonderful compliment!! 😃💕
