Happy Birthday to doodlewash.com! Today it turns 90 days old! They say that it takes around 90 days to really form a habit or addiction, so I guess you can also say that I’ve been completely and totally doodlewashed! Running this blog has been a sweet treat and it’s all thanks to the resident Doodlewash Crew, the amazing Guest Doodlewashers, and the incredibly beautiful and wonderful people who leave encouraging comments each day!

I originally started this blog to keep myself motivated and thought I would be sharing tips, tricks, and videos like the other blogs I’ve seen. But that never felt right, since what I really love most are stories. So the doodlewash adventure began to include storytelling. Not just my little stories, but the many wonderful individual stories of over 50 artists all around the globe! On ALL 7 CONTINENTS!! A small but mighty community of doodlewashers had formed!

I wasn’t sure what to sketch for the occasion, so I just made you all a slice of my favorite cake that Philippe makes, when I beg him to. I dubbed it “Christmas Cake” because he only makes it once a year around that time. It’s super early, but this also serves as a reminder to him as well, so win win! He said I should have put a candle on it, but I always think that one little candle looks a bit sad (like nobody took time to prepare for your party). Unless you are actually one, in which case you don’t care about candles and just want the cake.

Also, in happy birthday news, a lovely WordPress Editor named Krista gave Doodlewash the best present ever by featuring it on Freshly Pressed today! I had a follower goal I hoped to reach by this birthday, but it hadn’t happened yet this morning. Thanks to Krista’s help in getting the word out, it just did! And an extra special thanks for cleverly choosing a doodlewash post that included another artist! It’s just more doodlewashy that way (hmmm… must add to dictionary).

Whoa… this post wasn’t supposed to be this long… better say goodbye. I hope you’ll stay with me for another 90 days! I always say that doodlewashing is more fun with friends, and you’ve just continually proven that’s true. So, thanks, good friends! Hope you like the cake!

      1. Dang…I wasn’t sure I wanted to Like that comment because I want Philippe to bake it for you! There are certain things I only make once a year, too…like the Stolle de Noel bread. But you know, it gets easier to make these things if you do it more often…tell Philippe that! 😀

PS: You are going to post the recipe for that cake once Philippe bakes it, right? Or is he stingy with his recipe secrets like my Hubby is?:)
