yes the palette does NOT have the rolled edges in the center portion that holds the paint. It was the one thing I asked Kate too, I know older sets had rolled edges for all three hinged bits but these last paint boxes don’t. The center one is just cut metal. However, it seems they’re not actually “sharp” as in cut yourself. I don’t have one to actually test that theory.
