I agree that he could have painted for more creative works, but I think part of that is because he was painting for TV and trying to teach. So he would have to stick to certain types of painting that are more easily seen on screen and I guess things that people are familiar with (and hey, lets face it, the man painted what he liked, which happened to be trees and mountains and stuff lol). I know his approach of painting similar things all the time was one of the reasons why I felt after watching him that I might actually be able to do this painting stuff – because I watched him do it over and over again and really got familiar with how he did it, to the point where I could visualise myself doing the same thing 🙂 (I also have OCD and PTSD, so I tend to like to watch a lot before I try something new. Thank goodness for youtube lol!)
