Based on what you just said, Kate, I wrote back to them with links to my review, and to this thread. I haven’t been asked for documentation (yet), just photos. I’ll answer any request for documentation but I’ll document it on my blog, too. I’m not quite ready to assume they’re blowing smoke, so I’m going to try straddling the fence for a while, doing what might help them, but letting people know what’s going on so they’ll be careful about ordering, or know what might work for a fix, if they have.
Hopefully, Schmincke isn’t big enough that they’ve decided the can just ride out the bad press and do nothing to resolve the problem. I’m willing to work with them for a fix, but I won’t be buying from them again unless I see one.
