I live an hour or so away from the M Graham factory, and toured it about a year ago. It was interesting to discover that all the work is done in two buildings (one for storage and one for creating the paints and putting them in tubes), with about 14 employees. I learned some interesting facts too, such as the reason Cobalt is so expensive isn’t because the mineral is expensive — it’s actually cheaper than Ultramarine –but the fact is it takes so much of mineral to get good color. I’m crazy and have to constantly try out new products, just to see what they’re like, but I always come back to the M Graham. They’re just such a good bang for the buck.
