    Hi everyone,

So I’m looking to begin selling work next year and I’m thinking I’ll start with sites that do a lot of the processing for you (Society6, Etsy, etc.). But when you’re asked to sell a piece NOT on an existing site, like through Instagram, or email, etc. How do you accept payment? In person I would just assume someone would pay via cash or check, but say when it’s something you’ll be shipping, what platform/method would you use? I know there’s a few different payment services I’ve come across, but I don’t know how well they work on the back end. I would want the buyer, and myself, to feel secure using it.

    Thanks!

I would see if your bank will let you deposit e-transfers into your account. They are secure and relatively simple.

Oh interesting, I didn’t know you could do that directly through your bank. I’ll check into that, thank you Julia!

I sell my paintings and my Limited Edition Prints online! I have an Etsy Shop and I also sell directly on my Blog or Instagram. I use PayPal as payment method, it is secure for you and your customers both are protected. I am using it from years I also sell Internationally I never has any problem. 🙂

Thank you for suggesting it @yesterdayafter! I actually recently had an experience (on the buying end) with using Paypal to charge something without a website interaction. I never knew it worked standalone before.
