ParticipantYeah, it’s a pain. Some of them give me grief too, for making them go in the back to look for stuff. Like I want to make the trip myself.

ParticipantI hope Tonya doesn’t have to wait the extra time because of her dots!

InactiveWhen members receive their palettes, I’d like to know whether they have sharp edges when opened. The last WP custom set had sharp edges, instead of the rolled edges on other Schmincke palettes.

ParticipantI ordered my set the first of September but I’ve received no communication or shipping info at all. I’ve reached out to them. Again. This is the first time I’ve ordered from Wet Paint and I am going to be very upset if they’ve bypassed me over those stupid dots.

ParticipantI don’t have any of their palettes to compare but I’ll post photos so you can see if they do.

ParticipantI have two older Schmincke palettes, a small rectangle one and the square. The edges on the lids and mixing wings are rounded, but the bottom part that holds the pans is not. I have some knockoffs that have rolled edges on every surface, but the metal is lighter so I think the rolled edges are simply for stability… to keep the metal from torquing.
I’ve not had any problems with sharpness on my Schmincke tins and actually prefer the heavier gauge metal, though it does make the palette a tiny bit heavier. I haven’t received the newest one yet, but I doubt it has changed. But yes, Sandra, please post pics!

ParticipantWe’re all processing, Kate! 😄
WP says they are still trying to get them all out, so maybe one day.

ParticipantOkay! Here ’tis. Good news. All single pigment. Bad news. Not many are transparent. The tin was flimsier than I like, but has some nice features.
Not the best chart – all I had with me was a waterbrush and I was having some problems with water flow, but it gives you the idea. Oh, and don’t keep me to the Pigment Index numbers I’ve added here. Old eyes – I was having problems reading the label information. I couldn’t find any charts online that gave the numbers, so I’m hoping someone with a better eye for fine print can verify these.
And here are some photos of the tin.
The thumb ring sticks out unless the tin is lying on something. I’m not a fan of that.
I do like the seperate wells, but they’re on the wing and I could do without wings.
Rounded edges on the outside of the wing, but not on the inner corner.
I’m not sure how securely the tin closes. I painted up a chart to fit inside the lid to identify the colors on 300 lb paper, and that was enough to keep it from closing at all. I think if I carry this loose in a purse or bag that I’ll wrap a rubber band around it.

Participantlike they’d even let you. It’s so stupid when workers get pissed off for being required to actually do their job! It’s not YOUR fault that the post office hasn’t fixed your mail box door so they can deliver to YOU again, which your taxes pay for! Sheesh.

Participanthopefully they send twice!

Participantyes the palette does NOT have the rolled edges in the center portion that holds the paint. It was the one thing I asked Kate too, I know older sets had rolled edges for all three hinged bits but these last paint boxes don’t. The center one is just cut metal. However, it seems they’re not actually “sharp” as in cut yourself. I don’t have one to actually test that theory.
