I didn’t know what to paint today, and as I do love a nice color chart, I made one with Schmincke Horadams Cobalt Azure (483) which is from their newly added colors in their artists line if paints. All paint numbers are written on the chart, but might be a bit difficult to read.
Cobalt Azure is very nice granulating, and it really shows in mixes. Every wash was mixed on a palette, and still you can clearly see some of the pigments separating severely, like the bottom right one.

I’ve wanted to make a mix chart with the new Schmincke colors but haven’t had the chance, so it’s nice to see this. Thank you for sharing it.
Looks like a wonderful colour! Thanks for sharing this.
Beautiful chart. I too made a messy mixing chart of Schminke. I made mine small, and wonder how big your squares are?
Very nice chart Kate! I used a 17×24 cm paper for my chart, and it’s a bit cropped, but I think the squares are around 4×5 centimeters.
Lisa your squares seem more textural but they are not necessarily much bigger. I know this may sound screwy, but do you mix in a specific way? I mix on the paper, but just do a couple of dots and mix. I like how you can see the separation on yours, but not so much on mine. When I want to see what two colors can do I usual
do mixes like the one below, but you’ve gotten that in a chart!
Thanks Sandra!
