For tonight’s #DoodlewashDinner I’m bringing some grapes in honor of National Wine Day. I realize this is not actually wine, but apparently National “Drink Wine” Day was in February. I’m sure these days can be celebrated in the same fashion, but I do like the specific tone of the earlier holiday as I really love to drink wine! But for many of you who don’t, you can enjoy these grapes before they ferment. For you other wine lovers out there, this is our day to pull the corks out and enjoy!

I do actually really like grapes in their pure form and find them fun to eat. It’s like picking up a branch and plucking off little treasures. I’m sure the kind with seeds are the preferred for the raw crowd, but I just can’t deal with those. I definitely prefer seedless and the easy snacking that they bring. Of course, as I type this, I’m not eating grapes, but enjoying the day as it was meant to be enjoyed, with a nice glass of wine. In this case, a really lovely French Bordeaux that has a little medal on it because Philippe says those are always the best kind.
I normally write these posts before I have a glass of wine, but today I figured I’d mix things up in honor of the celebration. Actually, I’m just running super late as the day was a little busier than I expected. But sitting here now, enjoying this lovely glass of wine, I’m reminded that everything is just how it should be. I hope you’re all out there enjoying whatever it is that makes you happy on this fine day. And that you’ll forgive me for bringing so few grapes to our dinner tonight.
You’re all invited to a Doodlewash Dinner Party during the month of May! Just tag your food or drink image #doodlewashdinner and I’ll feature you and your culinary creations in a delicious Doodlewash Gallery at the end of the month!

I love grapes and you have made them look so yummy Charlie! Grapes go well with the fermented version of themselves so now I am wanting both. Cheers and enjoy!!
Thanks Susan! 😃💕I figured since you brought the wine, I’d expand with something a little different. Hehe
Lol 🙂
Juicy!
Hehe…thanks Cynthia! 😃💕
Having some red wine with you buddy! Grapes are great, but wine is the real winner! 🙂 Cheers!
Yep! I agree! Yay, Jodi! Glad you’re celebrating too! But just today for this special occasion, right? 😉lol
Yep! 😉
Wonderful work, Charlie! 👌🏼
Thanks so much Sibella! 😃💕
Welcome! 🙂
I’m still laughing over Susan’s wine and open yours and more wine, well grapes wanting to be wine. What a fun day of drinking wine. Or eating grapes.
Lol…I know! I love that she just ran off and made some for us! Yay!! Loving this Doodlewash Dinner! 😃😃
grapes are yummy but wine is superb! 🙂
Wiser words were never spoken, Margaret! 😃💕hehe…cheers!!
I saw the hashtag trending on Twitter earlier and thought of you, with a feeling that this couldn’t possibly go unnoticed. 😉 I’ve not wined today I’m afraid, but could quite happily compensate with an intoxicating number of grapes (seedless, natch). The doodlewash only sweetens the deal; they’re perfect, especially the bloom so clear on the reds – very clever! – and they just look so darn juicy. Yes please!
Yum. I’ve been having red grapes every day and just ran out yesterday. Now seeing this picture makes me want some this evening, but I’m out and the market is closed! See what the power of your doodling did to me. 😉 Fantastic work, Charlie!
Awww thanks Angie! 😃💕But oh no! Sorry to tempt you when the market is closed! You’ll have to fix that tomorrow! Hehe
Yes, I’ll have to get my fix on for sure! 🙂
February…May whatever. I’m having a glass of red and love this painting! 🙂
I love the shapes, depth, the stem, and highlights. This is wonderful, and skillful art.
Awww thanks! What a wonderful compliment!😃💕 And yeah…don’t really need an excuse to enjoy a glass of red! Hehe
Lovely doodlewash, Charlie. I am enjoying s delicious Cabernet Sauvignon. Cheers! 🍷🍷
Thanks Carol! 😃💕 And cheers!! Yay! Way to celebrate in style! 🍷🍷And two glasses I see…even better! Lol
One glass was for you, but if you insist! 😄🍷🍷

Awww thanks sis!! 😃💕hehe.. It’s fun to paint something you love! Sometimes I love it too much though. Must diet soon. 😊lol
Haha that’s for another day lol
Ok one of your amazingnesses. Seriously. Amazing work right here.
Hehe! Thanks!! 💕💕I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve ever painted grapes. You’d think that would have happened before this.
No doubt!
Cheers, Charlie!! 😄 Great grapes but I prefer the fermented variety! 🍷🍷🍷
Hehe… and that’s why we’re friends! Lol Thanks Jill! 😃💕Cheers! 🍷🍷🍷
Very appetizing! And quick tip for an easy summer dessert: put seedless grapes in freezer and snack on as desired.
Thanks! 😃💕Yum! A few folks on Instagram mentioned that… Now I’m totally going to have to try it!!
Charlie, your grapes are a wowza!! love how you created those purple variations in there… yum! delicious! Phillipe is a treasure… picking out the good stuff!! I’m all for that. life’s too short to drink ‘swill’ 🙂 FAB Post! Cheers!!
Thanks so much Debi! 😃💕 Life is definitely too short to drink swill… love that line. I want it on a T-Shirt!! Lol
exactly!!! these days, I can’t really even tolerate much alcohol.
So if I can only have less than half a glass… It Had Better Be bloody GOOD!!! LOL
Haha!! Excellent! That’s exactly how it should be! I require it even with my two glasses! 😊lol
well, besides the CTB club; now we have the ‘NO Swill’ club….. hehehe
I like these clubs! They’re smart! hehe
yup, humorous…. at any rate!!
Pretty grapes, Charlie. Love them this way or as raisins, not however as wine.
Thanks Sharon! 😃💕 I figured this way there was something for everyone in this post! Hehe
Well thank you, we get the start and end of the process, cheers Charlie. Look at the detail on those red grapes, just superb, I couldn’t stop looking at the stems, really well done. I would be eating them in an instant, I would decline the wine however, as I no longer rarely drink, it just does not appeal these days, oh and then there is a condition I suffer with if I drink too much??? Lol I can’t handle the thought of loosing a day in that manner.😉
Hehe… moderation is the only way! Lol I hate when I have the “one extra glass” and it wrecks me. Thanks Rebecca! 😃💕Glad you liked the doodlewash! First time painting grapes, which is weird as it’s such a common subject! 😊
Yum, for both!
Yay! Glad you’re a double fan, Janina! 😃💕
I don’t discriminate and will happily partake in both! Fabulous doodlewashes Charlie!
Excellent! Woman after my own heart! Hehe… thanks Cathe! 😃💕
Plump juicy grapes are always a good addition to the meal. Beautifully rendering Charlie!
Thanks Sharon!😃💕 It was fun to paint grapes and yeah… they’re a good addition, as long as there’s also wine. Hehe
Whoou that is very gorgeous though. I will be posting my art too and you are so welcomed to visit mine.
Thanks so much! Appreciate it! 😃
Beautiful grapes, love the depth of color and shine…looks like someone did some snacking ;D Love your urban sketch, that is my kind of urban drawing, forget the scaffolding on the construction site, just bring me a glass, pretty please, of a delightful vintage. Thank you for sharing your lovely art.
Thanks Haunani! 😃💕So glad you’re you liked these! Grapes are one of my favorite snacks. Hehe
The perfect end to the day! (K)
Every day! Hehe…or did you mean the grapes? 😊those are good too.
