Cap Salou

GUEST ARTIST: “Cap Salou” by Pascal Abaziou

This doodlewash is from Pascal Abaziou, born in Brittany, France but now living near Paris (follow him on Instagram). Created as a watercolor postcard, Pascal sketched a view from his hotel while vacationing on the coast of Salou, Spain.

Pascal says, “I really like seascape art (both photos and painting). I practiced photography for many years and drawing from time to time. I began watercolor this year.”

Water Brushes Pentel DerwentWhen it comes to Pascal’s travel art supplies he prefers to travel light. He carries 6 water brushes: 3 Pentel and 3 Derwent. “What I like with Derwent ones,” he says,  “is there’s one flat and not only round. I also have a little palette.”

When he’s at home, he has more art supplies to use. There he has many brushes, including one fan and some big ones, (“really good for bigger paintings”) up to size 30 and 40 round and 1″ for flat brushes.

He also has the Winsor and Newton Artist Watercolour Suitcase. He says, “This set is a good one with all that’s needed to begin.” The set includes a box of 12 Half Pans, six 5ml tubes of Artist Water Colours, along with 2 brushes, an eraser, pencil, tinting saucer, sponge, and Art Masking Fluid medium.

Thanks so much for sharing your doodlewash with us Pascal, and looking forward to seeing what you’ll make next! Be sure to follow him on Instagram and Twitter!
