Here’s another Sunday doodlewash from Philippe (@Phinomet). He was very happy with this one because it’s in a much looser, more abstracted style that he’s been trying to master. It was also one of the larger pieces he’s done and was just a touch larger than our scanner (prompting me to add another item to my Christmas wish list).
The weather is starting to get colder here now, and I’m not sure that we’re ready for it. I’m confident our dog, Phineas, isn’t ready as he just looks up at us each time we take him outside like it’s our fault it’s freezing. It’s that “can’t you fix this, you jerk?” look that he often gets when things aren’t going exactly how he thinks they should.
Unfortunately we can’t, and it’s almost that time of year when you stay inside with a fire burning and a mug of hot tea. Phineas doesn’t drink tea, but he does enjoy laying by the fireplace. Soon we’ll all be cuddled up and trying to keep warm, but right now we’re just getting ready for winter.

It’s beautiful, Philippe…perfect colors for the season and I do love the loose strokes, too! Poor Phineas…on the bright side, I guess it says a lot about his faith in you if he thinks you can fix the seasons/weather. 😀
Have you a scanner to recommend? I’m in the market for one and am too lazy to do research on it myself. 😉
A happy Sunday to you guys! xo
Thanks Teresa! 😃 And yeah… I guess Phineas does think we’re rather magical so that’s cool! As for a scanner, I’m currently just using the one that’s on our Epson XP-600 photo printer and it’s not too bad. I know there are some scanners that only work when something is touching the screen or they’ll be blurry (so won’t work for sketchbooks), but this one does a fine job. When I was looking at large format scanners, the price jumped up to pro pricing, so I sort of abandoned the idea! 😊hehe
I hear a lot of recommendations for Epsons. It’s just a matter of deciding which model works best for my needs…but it’s not easy to choose since there are a million model! Thanks for letting me know what you found. xo
Ours was on special and on $99, so it was practically an impulse purchase. I’ll let you know if I see of anything cooler that doesn’t break the bank as I’m still researching it. 😉👍🏻
Thank you! x
It is beautiful! I can feel the crispy air. I love the loose washes too.
I know many dogs who love the cool air and some even love the snow but I suppose both Phineas and my dog, Vince, like the warmer climate. Although Vince doesn’t like the 100+ temperatures either. I remember once when my husband took Vince out for a walk and he had to call me to get them because Vince sat down and refused to walk any further. I was worried about Vince being dehydrated but he seemed okay, just didn’t want to walk in the hot sun. Lol. I hope you, Philippe, and Phineas enjoy a cozy Sunday!!
Thanks Kari!! 💕😃Vince sounds smart…like he also demand what he wants! Lol Phineas will do the same thing when it’s cool…just stop and not walk any further. Philippe has had to carry him home on a few occasions. Clever dog! 😉
This is beautiful! Such lovely colours and a wicked sky. Good on Philippe for managing to perfect a looser style – whenever I try that, it seems to somehow come out exactly the same.
Heh! My cat Oscar has given up on the outdoors for the winter, but he is getting old now so I don’t blame him. I love the winter though, for situations you describe. Cuddles, tea by the fire, and snow. It is unfairly maligned! Go Winter!
Thanks Jacob! I thought he sky was really cool as well! 😃 And yeah…I actually love this time of year as you don’t feel pressure to be doing anything and can just be lazy and say it’s because of the cold! Lol
Yes, definitely – lay in until the afternoon ’cause it’s cold! Though, you know you’ve probably overdone it when you look out the window and it’s getting dark… oops!
True…you’re reaching a stage were friends might need to schedule an intervention then! Lol
It’s a great reminder that fall is happening in some places. It also made me think of warmth because of the colors. Thanks Philippe!
Yay! Glad you liked this one friend!! 😃💕
Nicely done, indeed, Philippe! I really like that loose look. It is such a cheering piece.
Yeah…I agree Kirk! I can never manage to get this loose! Hehe
This is gorgous Philippe! Elegant simplicity at its best! Fall soon to be winter is in the air here too. I found a light sprinkling of snow on our deck this morning. For some reason I was shocked, I shouldn’t be, its that time of year.
Thanks Cathe! 💕😃hehe…I’m actually hoping for a little dusting on snow at the end of this week. It looks pretty and feels like we’re heading into Christmas, which is my favorite time of year!! 😊
A very dramatic effect! I love the bold color.
So happy you liked this Sharon!! Thank you!! 💕😃
Gorgeously loose and striking and impactful! LOVE it Philippe! And we have a warm fire burning right now – but red wine – not tea – hehe!
Thanks Jodi!! ❤️😃 Well yeah…admittedly red wine is best!! Hehe
The simplicity of the shapes is very poetic. (K)
Thanks Kerfe! 💕He painted this one when I was in Chicago this last week…it was lovely to come home to!
I love the boldness of this painting! The colors really sing too! What an AWESOME gift from Philippe, Charlie! 🎁 It is the little gifts in life that mean so much! 💖😄🎨
Whoooo! Our power just came back on! 🌟🌟🌟 Doing a HAPPY dance!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Yay!!!!!!!! Congratulations!! No more doodling in the dark for you my friend!! That’s awesome!! ❤️😃
Awww thanks Jill! 💕😃 It was like a gift because I was in Chicago when he painted this one and came home to find it! It’s super cool! I love it!
I must say, I really love Philippes style – very free but evocative/
Thanks!! Isn’t it great?! I wish I could paint more loose like this! 😊hehe
Beautiful…love the colors and the bold simplicity.
Thanks Haunani! I’m rather liking Philippe’s style lately! It’s pretty darn cool! 😉👍🏻
