These inventive and lovely doodlewashes come from Jessica Seacrest in Tucson, Arizona (follow her on Instagram!). It was just in April of 2015 this past year that she started making art or as she says, “creativity knocked, and I opened the door.”
Since then, Jessica has allowed herself to explore any medium that caught her fancy. She started keeping art journals, a general one, and a square size for mandalas. She actively participates in the on-line 100 Mandalas Sharing Circle started by Kathryn Costa.
Her favorite mediums have become watercolor, ink, and brush pen. (Yay! Mine too!) Jessica says, “most of my art has a focus on round shapes, and mandalas, with something a little quirky thrown in here and there. I make art, simply, because I can, and I look forward to learning plein air watercolor sketching techniques.” (Yes! DO! Can’t wait to see what you’ll make next!)
Prior to her current art journey, her previous artistic expression was through embroidery, knitting and clay. Besides this creative adventure, she continually explores herself through meditation and Qigong. Jessica considers herself to be an enthusiast of creative acts, and hopes that her story and expression will help to encourage others to explore their creativity.
When not doing the things above, she can be found at her day job – an accounting manager for a civil engineering firm where she’s been working for almost 20 years. She went to school for accounting and also holds an MBA. (Smart and artistic, eh? Excellent combination!) Be sure to follow her Instagram feed for more lovely things!
