Doodlewash by Cori Hederich

Doodlewash by Cori HederichHello, my name is Cori Hederich from Texas (follow me on Instagram, Twitter and visit my Society6 shop!) and I’ve been creating my entire life. I have vivid memories of organizing my crayons and creating color schemes as a child. I started college as a business major and took art classes as electives; I soon realized that Art needed to be my major.

Art is my life, creating every day is essential to my happiness. Drawing and painting and how the two intertwine fascinate me. I love to explore with different drawing tools and have recently fallen in love with gel ink and India ink pens.

Doodlewash by Cori HederichIn Art School I took many drawing and watercolor classes. It was the first time I had ever painted with watercolor; it was frustrating yet fascinating at the same time. Exploring and experimenting with color and texture has been my recent passion, in particular my Angel Wings series. My Angel Wing series consists of colorful washes and texture with ink. My art is always evolving; I find it exciting to try new materials and subjects. Nature is a common theme in all of my art. Flowers, birds, animals, trees, and plants are subjects that keep reappearing while I am creating. I am constantly inspired by nature’s colors and textures.

Doodlewash by Cori HederichI also teach art and it is a blessing to witness children find pride and joy in a piece of art that they created. I love to teach my students that what they create has value and they should feel proud of their creative accomplishments. Art is universal and ageless. Art is for everyone.

You can find me on Instagram, Twitter and Society6.

Art is a lot more seductive as a major than business. 🙂 So glad Cori is following her bliss! The angel wings are simply magical.

I love the detail in the angel wings. You sound like an inspiring teacher, too.
