Written by Today’s fun doodlewash is another from Guest Doodlewasher Jenny Kroik (her original feature can be seen here). She had painted yours truly a little while back, so it seemed fair to also give Philippe a little J. Kroik doodlewash treatment. This is Philippe trying on a new Pokemon hat that came out of our Loot Crate, a monthly box of ridiculous and wonderful things. With Sarah Smalldon in the UK having previously painted our dog, Phineas, our doodlewash Family Portrait is now officially complete!
The likeness is dead on, so this was super fun to see when I was scrolling past images in Instagram! Jenny’s portraits are amazing and it was such a treat to get the Jenny treatment. She had started doing selfies, then switched to community portraits for a time (check out this portrait of Guest Doodlewasher Yukari Bromfield!). Jenny was inundated with requests, still has some to complete, and is now busy teaching, so she has closed submissions for the time being, but hopes to open them again in the future.
Since it’s Philippe’s birthday weekend (his birthday is on Monday which stinks, so we just rescheduled it for the weekend), it was perfect timing. The hat is admittedly ridiculous but the gleam in the eye and the slight smirk has been captured perfectly. We’re not a terribly serious family, even the dog likes to make up games, and life is just too short and too weird to be taken seriously.
So happy birthday, Philippe! Hope you have an amazing weekend and enjoy every little moment! Also, don’t forget we need to eat a light lunch as we’re going out to dinner tonight to your favorite restaurant tonight. And no… the dog can’t come!

Hehe…I think that must be it right? I have taken to reading some to him and he always smiles and laughs, so I don’t feel fully insulted. But really…I can’t hope to compete with the cute animal posts he’s always looking at on Buzzfeed 😊
Well…okay…Buzzfeed does have an excess of cute animal pics. Lucky for me my internet sucks and won’t let me load that site at home. 😀
Oh neither of us are prim and proper, but I guess he would be deemed more so if there was a sliding scale. I mean, he probably won’t wear it to dinner tonight, for instance, though I can’t be completely sure yet. 😉
