After I was complaining that the autumn colors were suspiciously slow to come here, Philippe decided to doodlewash the first and only appearance of fall foliage in our neighborhood. It was certainly in the most unexpected of places.

This is the curve in our street, and just behind the sewer drain, guard rails, and caution sign, you can see a bright red orange salute to fabulous fall. The effect, is a beautiful image that sends some sort of message, but I’ll leave it to you to determine just what it’s trying to say.

But I do think “Slow” is a perfect reminder for a Sunday, with Monday always lurking around the corner to speed life up again. We wish you all a lovely day and hope you’ll find time to slow down, relax, and make something beautiful.

  1. What a beautiful scene in such an unexpected place! I love the rich reds Philippe used and they contrast so well with the cool blues and grey’s below. Wonderful!

I’m happy to report that I don’t see any 100’s in this week’s forecast and it’s actually cool today! I’m trying to get our Halloween decorations out today and thinking about doodlewashing some of my Halloween knick knacks for Inktober.. Have a restful Sunday!
