Just to prove that I’m enjoying something other than food during this trip to Paris, today we have this tiny kitten. I met this little guy on our first night here when we had dinner with our friend Zélie and snapped several photos. We were sitting outside and the little cat was just behind the window, jumping up to see us, batting at the glass, and then ducking back down again. Not sure where he came from or who he was dining with, or why a cat was allowed inside a restaurant for that matter, but he was incredibly cute and fun to watch. These little moments are far more memorable than the famous attractions and will be the ones I treasure most from this trip. Well, there is the food, which I’ll also miss very much, but mostly the beautiful time spent with family and friends.
Tomorrow, we’re heading to Disneyland Paris primarily to check out the Ratoutille ride, but, of course, we’ll be enjoying all the other rides as well. Philippe’s brother lives nearby so we’ll be going there after our day of pretending to be kids again. After that, there’s just two more days here before we head back home on Saturday. It’s been a delightful trip, and since we’ve spent much of it just hanging out and not attempting to run all over the city, it’s been incredibly relaxing as well. I definitely need to start working on my French seriously now, so I can better converse and understand the many conversations around me. I say, “my French,” as though I had any at all, when in reality I’m still struggling with the basics. But I’ll keep trying.
For now, I’m just thrilled to be here, surrounded by wonderful people whose company I really enjoy. Philippe and I decided we are going to make an effort to return each year. Life is too short to miss out on those little moments shared with family and close friends. And I feel lucky to be able to experience the reality of Parisian daily life, far beyond the Eiffel Tower, tucked away in the little neighborhoods most Americans never get a chance to visit. But if you do, I would highly recommend finding your way to Les Artistes on Rue Didot for Happy Hour. Bring a good friend and have a seat outside for a lovely drink. Relax and fall in love with the slower side of Paris life. And if you’re lucky, you might have the extreme pleasure of finding out you’re not alone, and getting a visit from a curious little cat behind the window.

Yes right we are already doing it all year! LOL I always use ink too! I created a character and developing it following the words on the prompt list. I hope you will check it out 😉 <3
I’ve been seeing them on IG and WWG! Very cool! Just have time to like bomb people on this trip and not really time to comment much. 😊hehe
What a little charmer! I’ve had fun tagging along your French adventure, thanks for sharing so generously.
Thanks so much, Sharon! 😃💕 Hehe… glad you’re enjoying it. It’s rather missing the famous landmarks, but I’ve seen those so many times and they aren’t the things I love most here! 😊
Oh how cute. The slower side of Paris that you have been describing sounds ideal to me. Enjoy your remaining time there to the fullest.

Yes!! Disneyland is so FUN!! 😃👍
I don’t know The Artist or I don’t remember perhaps, because I lived not far from the Didot street and I’m sure I walked in front of. Really adorable cat, bravo for your beautiful painting, so difficult to make a kitty portrait as it always mooves. Spend a great time to EuroDisnay Charlie ! Keep full of memories in your head and enjoy now and after !
What a sweet kitty and wonderful and relaxing moment. Im so happy you are having the perfect vacation with the plan to return every year. I’m sure you’ll pick up more French as you continue to visit and immerse yourself in French culture! Enjoy the rest of your lovely vacation Charlie!
Awww thanks, Cathe!! 😃💕 It’s been just a fabulous time and fun to live French for awhile. Will take me years to ever be conversant, but I figure it may happen one day! hehe
Such a sweetie, wonderfully caught expression, charlie! 🔟 out of 🔟. He probably belongs to the owner! Bonsoir…
Thanks so much, Janina! 😃💕 Yeah… I’m thinking he was the owner’s cat for sure. hehe, but nobody came over to check on it while we were there.
Oh, how memorably adorable and funny! Looks like you made a new friend fast! I’d be hysterical I think if i were paid such a visit while out to dinner. And YES! Finally Ratatouille time! It’s ridiculous how excited I am for you, given I’m not going to have the thrill of this experience 😛 but I hope you had a blast!
