I decided to tackle a view of the Moulin Rouge from when I was with my partner for the first time in Paris three years ago. As ever, a little ways in I realized it was much more difficult than I had anticipated. Decided to stop and not fuss over it and this is how it ended.
I had taken my sketchbook with the thought that I would sketch on this street. My sketchbook remained empty the entire trip, and here I am three years later finally going for it. Took plenty of photos on this street though. Not sure I’ll paint them all as the latter end of the street is riddled with sex shops. Out of context, those doodlewashes might look a little too bizarre.

Terrific. And great shadow from the blade.
Thanks Kirk! I worry about screwing up my shadows…they can either make the piece or be that thing you added last that looks sort of crappy and now you’re stuck with it! Hehe
…it truly has a great deal of charm
Thanks Lance! Appreciate that so much! 🙂
