I doodlewashed something completely different this afternoon, as Philippe requested that I draw a pig. I took him up on his challenge and gave him not one, but two pigs. Take that! It was both fun and super hard. Pigs aren’t that easy to draw it turns out. But I kept trying and finally these little guys emerged.
I’m wanting to try a portrait of a person soon, but figured I should take baby steps, so I’m starting with pigs. I did a simple pen drawing and then used a pretty limited palette to add the watercolor. The pigs themselves were done with layered glazes of watered down Alizarin Crimson, and then I popped some Cobalt Blue into the shadows. I think these would also look good on a decorative plate along with my previous doodlewash of the rooster.

Thanks so much Beverly!! 😃I started in pencil with these guys. Didn’t feel brave enough to jump right to pen! 😊

Haha! Sorry…Darn autocorrect, Haunani. Apparently my phone wants to rename you 😊
And your new nicknames for me make me laugh…sometimes? ;D
No worries, I too have a phone with a mind of its own. 😀
