For Day 30 of World Watercolor Month and our optional prompt of “Whistle,” I sketched a little kitten blowing a red one. It should probably be stated that I don’t really watch or enjoy sports of any kind, but I do love being part of a team. And for all of you who’ve been painting along with me this month, it feels like I’m part of the coolest team on the planet. We’ve almost made it to the very end of July and I’ve been amazed by all of the incredible watercolor paintings that you’ve each created. It’s truly inspiring. Together, we’ve made thousands of new watercolors and shared them with the entire planet in celebration of this fantastic and unique medium. You’ve also helped spread the word of the charitable cause and we’ve sold lots of limited edition souvenirs in our shop (it’s only open through July 31st by the way!), which helps the International Child Art Foundation. Thanks so much to each of you for being part of this phenomenal event and much love to you all!
It’s been a total blast this month to show up each and every day and share a fresh new watercolor illustration and ramble once again! I’ll be moving back to weekly Tuesday posts next, so I’ll actually be doing 32 days in a row since I’ll be here to kick off our August Art Challenge! And, I’ll likely be finding some extra time to relax and recuperate in August as hosting this month takes quite a bit of extra work. Though Philippe and I did manage to sneak away this weekend and enjoy time with friends at a lodge in a remote part of Kansas. I wasn’t sure if I could figure out how to make that happen, but with a little extra energy I was able to get everything done prior to leaving so I could simply enjoy my time there. We had a blast simply spending quality time with one another and enjoying the peacefulness of our quiet surroundings.
As much as I do love visiting new places, it’s equally nice to be reunited with my pup Elliott and back to a normal routine. Elliott seems to be happy for that as well. Even though he’s a lot to handle sometimes and I did enjoy a brief respite from those perma-puppy antics, I missed him a ton. Elliott seems a bit tired from all of the extra excitement and play that he had at his resort, so we’re all ready to spend some quiet time relaxing. And, Philippe and I have both taken the day off tomorrow as well so we can fully enjoy a bit of extra weekend time at home. Tomorrow is also the very last day of World Watercolor Month, so just another reminder that it’s the absolute last chance to shop for limited editions souvenirs in support of the International Child Art Foundation! (The shop will close and return next year!) If you’ve been doing the daily challenge along with me this month, then a huge congrats! You’ll also have 31 watercolors and you should be extremely proud. We’ve only one day left, so let’s go team!

Tomorrow is a family day holiday for most Canadians I think, our province has anyway. I almost tripped over an Elliott look alike today on the way to church. And a goose across the street in someone’s yard …! There is a bird sanctuary up the road, a little oasis we used to go to all the time but now the zoners have likely taken that over too. Found one today on my lawn and he was still there hours later so I went to check him, breathing, and called 911. He took one look and left. I think I need one of those red whistles.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Sweet kitten, Charlie! Happy to hear that you had a restful weekend!
Thanks so much, Mary!! 😃💕
Thanks so much, Linda! 😃💕 Oh wow… sounds like you encounters with critters of all types lately!!
I’m glad you managed to get for the weekend! It’s been a bit frantic here between back trouble, and visiting family – one of whom had a heart event and had to have a stent put in. It never rains but it pours. The person with a heart attack was out of the hospital after only one day. That makes me aware that there have been some amazing advances in medicine, and there are so many amazing things to be grateful for in this world!
That’s so true! It’s amazing how quickly people can recover from things these days. And that’s one good thing about AI… it only promises to provide more! 😉
I am so glad that you had a weekend away. You are right Doodlewash and the people who participate in Watercolour month are indeed a ‘team’, the best kind of team. I am not a team sports person either. Even as a runner I preferred Ultrarunning because you only compete against yourself really. Yet there is the comradery with the others running with you, but you alone are your own ‘team’.
I absolutely love your little kitty blowing that whistle – he looks so surprised at the sound!!! lol makes me giggle.
So my friend enjoy your August – you said it was a busy time, but I hope that you are able to find quiet time for yourself and your family – it is so important. Lots of hugs, Zoie
Thanks so much, Zoie! 😃💕 We do have the best kind of team here. And yes, I did manage to some down time along the way and even a little getaway at the end. August will provide more actual rest and so I’m looking forward to it!! Hugs to you!
I love your little kitten Charlie. It’s been a great month even though I haven’t been able to do all the prompts.
Thanks so much, Gary! 😃💕 It looked like you did most of them and beautifully done by the way!
Super cute kitty, Charlie! Sounds like a great getaway, too, my friend. 💜💜💜
Thanks so much, mi amiga! 😃💕 It was a fabulous little getaway… much needed! hehe Hugs to you!!
Beautiful little kitten Charlie!
Thanks so much, Kamlesh! 😃💕
Hello Charlie,
Congratulations on bringing another successful World Watercolor Month to a close. 🙂 You definitely deserve a good rest and am glad to know that you took some time off. Though I haven’t been leaving a comment every day, I have been reading every post from you. It has kept me sane and afloat in what has turned out to be an emotionally stormy month. So thanks a ton for those daily posts. Fingers crossed for a turnaround any time. Much love
Mugdha
Thanks so much, Mugdha! 😃💕 I’m so happy my posts provided some sunshine in your stormy month. I hope things get better for you very soon, my friend. Much love to you! ❤️
