Written by So I decided to try something more complex like this view of Venice, Italy and to do it entirely in ink! Planning on making this into a doodlewash, but wanted to share the sketch first because I was super excited I actually did it. Actually I’m just scared I’ll screw it up in the wash, so it’s a bit of a backup… just in case.
I’ve been to Venice a couple times and the first time was truly magical. I’d never seen anything quite like it. On the second visit, however, I started to notice the smell. But either way, if you haven’t been, it’s definitely a place to add to the bucket list!

…it is a complex scene and one would have thought you were right there on the very spot itself. Interestingly, I have never been there, yet am doing a painting of it this minute! It is part of a photo arts club/painting gallery project where we are doing paintings which correspond to selected photo images, and I selected Venice. I will post the results. Thank you for your inspiration.
