Trying to loosen up and sketch more quickly without worrying over every little line. I started this doodlewash by sketching the house lightly in pencil before going back with ink. My goal is to drop the pencil altogether as a crutch and just go straight to ink.
I’m also trying to hold my pen further back so the lines are more organic and not so militaristic. Wanting to try more urban sketching and I want to speed up my sketches so I can capture things I see more quickly.

I like the notion of holding the pencil a bit farther back. I really like that image. Again–great shadow.
Thanks Kirk! Yeah… you lose a bit of fierce control when you move your fingers back and release your grip, but the lines get sort of cooler and more interesting. Thanks on the shadows! Still working on those! 😉
I’d say you’ve figured shadow out.
Thanks man! Appreciate it! 🙂
I may say its far away from my approach.
Vibrant colours n the magic of black pen

Aww thanks so much, Snehlata! 😃💕 This was such an early sketch! It’s fun to look back on those!
