Since our World Watercolor Group will always be a “paint whatever you like” collective, this month is all about celebrating just that! For March, I’m trying something new with open-ended painting prompts, so you can use them while painting any subject matter that you love most! Whenever you post your watercolors, (even if you’re not using the prompts), always be sure to tag them #WorldWatercolorGroup on all social networks so we can find you and link to your lovely work in real time! If you’re participating in the optional daily challenge, simply mention it in your post! Also, if you’re not a member of our Facebook Group, please join us there as well!
MARCH ART CHALLENGE – Paint What You Love
Want to play along? Well, hopefully you already are! This month is all about passion and pursuing whatever you feel most excited to paint. Whether it’s representational art or beautifully abstract, it’s entirely up to you for this month’s challenge. Is there something you’ve been dying to practice? This is the month to give it a try! Had a theme of your own you’d like to explore? Do it! Do it! It’s a wonderful time of year for new beginnings and what better way to push yourself to do what you really love than a fun little “anything goes” watercolor art challenge!
31 Ideas To Paint This Month
Don’t worry! I’m still showing up with some prompts to help you along the way. But, this month, instead of things, we have 31 ideas to paint. Feel free to choose your own theme if you’d like or go theme-free and play! These are open-ended painting and sketching prompts that you can interpret however you like! If you’re new to watercolor painting or want to improve your existing skills, many of the prompts this month can also be interpreted practically as there are some key fundamentals of painting in the mix. Or, just read them and let your mind wander to wherever the heck it takes you next! And, as always, have fun!!
