It is a similar neutralized gray violet like Shadow Violet, but it granulates like Bloodstone or the Lunar colors.

My sketch kit consists of:
1. Stillman and Birn 8×10 Softcover Sketchbook (I vary between papers, right now I am using a Zeta)
2. Pad of Tomoe River Paper … I am working on my novel on this paper and I like to tape raw writing into my sketchbook … looking into drawing or painting over the writing which is a big thing I am exploring now.

I keep DS Carbazole Violet, Quin Violet and Shadow Violet on my palette. I own Moonglow, Cobalt Violet, Amethyst Genuine, and Rose of Ultramarine, but I find them a bit twee for my style (although I will pull them out to play every so often). I just got Lunar Violet and Burnt Hematite Violet but haven’t played with them much. They are crazy granulators.

I keep some SuperFine Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens in different colors as well as two fountain pens–a Pilot Penmanship with Noodler’s Lexington Gray and a Platinum Carbon Desk Pen with the Carbon ink cartridges. The Penmanship is VERY Fine, so perfect for hatching and Lex Gray is the only Noodler’s bulletproof ink that works well for me with watercolor.

I primarily use Daniel Smith. There have been very few of their paints I have flat out hated. I also love their random granulation and separation properties and many of their convenience mixes do really fun things.
