    watercolour is a very difficult medium to copy, especially any wet in wet, depends on the humidity. i think you’ve got 2 different paintings to play with!! 🙂

    tube paints are easier to use in the heat, squeeze out fresh paint and off you go!!

    where would you find the information about the W&N pans containing less pigment? the cotman pans (and tubes) are definitely less interesting to paint with, i really despair when beginner students turn up with them!

    some brands have watercolour grounds, I haven’t used them but I think you paint over the surface with the ground , let it dry, then you can paint over it with watercolour. Maybe the sizing issue will be less obvious. do not buy papers older than 2 years.
