Day 14 – furry things. I have several stray cats in my neighborhood. One set is a mama and her baby, another is a calico. The baby and calico have become The Odd Couple, as they often sit in my driveway or on my porch waiting for me to come home and offer up a few ear skritches. I hope to have homes for all 3 soon. View

I don’t have air conditioning so my windows are open at night. It is always a good day when the alarm clock doesn’t wake me up, but the sound of birds chirping does. I’ve done several variations of this little birdie, just ‘cuz it makes me happy. #simplepleasures birdie_TCS

Day 5 Loose and free. Wet on wet is not a style I use, but learning was fun. Will be nice to revisit during the hot, non-air-conditioned, days of August when my usual painting style dries far too fast. 752019_looseandfree_lilacs
Day 3 and 4 Picnic food/family fun. Hey Boo Boo! Growing up our family picnics didn’t have the cute plaid tablecloth, just old forest service tables and benches, a small campfire, and the lingering smell of mosquito spray. I always wanted a cute little basket like the ones Yogi Bear stole. I’m blending the prompts a bit and painting my…[Read more]
My painting several years in the making. I started it based on a photo I took, but got frustrated and never finished it. I found it a few weeks ago. The original photo is gone. While it’s not architecturally accurate, I like it enough to make a few cards and gift them away. #pdx pdx_card
