1,000 congratulations on your 1,000 days, Charlie! You are such an inspiration and it’s great to have your full doodlewash journey story here, along with the encouragement and guides for creating a wonderful habit. I especially appreciate your comments about needing to set aside more than 15 minutes every day because otherwise that time…[Read more]
Lovely cappuccino – and since I’m reading this in the morning, I might just make myself one now. It won’t be as fun and shiny as your painting, but at least I’ll be able to drink it! It’s also so fun to learn bits about your process. We always guessed that there was some wet paint lurking, but you’ve confirmed it. ( :
Oh my goodness! What a horrible thing, but in true Charlie form you made the best of it. I once started to learn classical guitar- it is a magical thing. But we are lucky that you continue the magic through your paints!
Philippe dressed as a toucan! Definitely. He owes that to you. Actually, I think it would be fun to see what animal mascots you could paint for all of those grown-up foods you have to eat now. Starting with Ronny the Rhino. We all need more glee and fun!!
I just realized why this site is so awesome – it’s stories! Not just a great painting but a story, too. One of my frustrations with something like Instagram is that there is just an image, with maybe a few words. But a story…..that…[Read more]
Foil! What a challenge, but you rose to the occasion. It is wonderful to stop by here every day, Charlie. I might not comment as much as I used to, but your paintings and your words still bring lots of light to my days. Thanks!!
Yay!! A Jessica review! Thanks for much for introducing Treckell and for the great review. That video of painting the Taj Mahal is amazing! Also, thank you thank you for your thoughts on creativity and dealing with critics, external and internal.
From pizza to da Vinci! Your posts are always such a treat, Charlie. Walter Isaacson just published a gorgeous biography of da Vinci you might want to look at. Love the pizza painting and I appreciate you omitting the extra pepperoni grease. ( :
An adorable little duckling! You have captured everything it means to be a little duck, including the glint in the eye showing the dreams of making anything possible. Just like you, Charlie – you make anything possible.
Wonderfully eager toast! And a great painting – terrific way to start the year. You have me wondering, though, about the cereal box prizes. I never buy cereal anymore, but it seems like the they don’t put prizes in. I wonder why. Seems like a generation is missing out on a wonderful tradition, even if the prizes were often lame. Anyway, all…[Read more]
Adorable! And all with just two colors…. ( : Growing up in the Colorado mountains, we never ever had to flush ice cubes or sleep in inside-out pajamas with a spoon in order to get snow. Lots of snow. However, we also never got a snow day. Ever.
