Thanks Cathy. Every wtercolour book i come across describes its own style. They all look different. So it makes sense to find out what works even if it is an outlier. Again Bob Ross: ‘let it happen’. And children too – they just let it happen and quite often produce stunning results.
Thanks James. Using paperwhitewas a very recent revelation. Less than a month old. Used to empty tubes of Camel Chinese white. Must have realised earlier when i first noticed that yhe standard Camel set does not carry the white 🙂
Thanks Kaye. The first time I got something framed, the lady at the shop said these dont look like watercolours and had a more acrylic feel to them; may be the Bob Ross effect. At the end of the day it probably does not matter as much. I will keep at it and explore different ways of painting.
