Well, I didn’t finish my caboose yesterday. I got it partway done, then got discouraged or ran out of time. Probably some of both. I’ll come back to it & post it later, hopefully. Some time ago I heard an artist describe a phase she said most watercolor paintings go through when you have your sketch, the light wash and some medium tones done…she said that pretty much all watercolor paintings look “not so great” at that point and you just have to keep adding the detail and the darks…trusting that it’ll come together. I often struggle with that phase. But I do come back to the paintings and usually finish them eventually. Anyone else experience this?
