Not a set but there is some lunar black and moon glow in there which are granulating as well as pilling from the paper.

Nebula 325 was inspired by all the James Webb Space Telescope hype and my subsequent reviewing the incredible images provided by the Hubble Telescope. (Daniel Smith Watercolors on Canson XL Multimedia paper) Nebula 325

Thanks Trissa. I’m using Daniel Smith watercolors on Canson Mix Media XL paper in a ringed sketchbook.

Mixed media paper, interesting. I haven’t tried that at all. I mostly use Daniels Smith but felt like I needed to move to W&N in order to get a turquoise I really liked. Is the blue/turquoise a mix you made or did I maybe miss a DS shade I should have tried? And is that Imperial purple maybe? I’m intrigued with how well these colors flow &…[Read more]

Wow, gorgeous. Both titles seem to fit, to me. I’m curious about the paint & paper you’ve used.

Paintings can always have dual names! Both names suit perfectly in this case – I almost expect some magical creature to emerge.

Inspired by a dream from last night and most likely one too many martinis. Seriously, where does this stuff come from? (Watercolors, Wet on Wet) Wild Fire

Well, I can see the ice crystals on his fir. Coincidentally I’m reading a book called The Terror by Dan Simmons in which polar bears play a central theme. Your painting hit a nerve. Nice work.

Thanks! It is so cold here and so much snow I haven’t been out of the house since Christmas. Not much else to do except paint.
