12/12/19 Poinsettia A local civic group was selling beautiful Poinsettias to raise money and they had these beautiful “Valentine” Poinsettias which I had never seen before. The leaves are bright red and almost pleated. The plants are beautiful and my painting doesn’t do this plant justice. 12.12.19 Poinsettia img040.jpg
I finished this last night. I tried to scan this morning but the little scanner didn’t pick up the light blue color. It gave me a white background. So.. I took the photo with my cell phone again.
I drew today’s prompt, the #Poinsettia, this morning but won’t have time to paint until (hopefully) tonight.…[Read more]
Our prompt of “Snowflake” today made me think of catching snowflakes on my tongue when I was a kid. Here by proxy we have this blue jay doing the same. I’m still not sure exactly why this was so much fun, but it
The sad thing is that there are children who are simply little adults. Usually, because they’ve been taught that anything joyful is sinful or just foolish. Some people may not remember tasting snowflakes because they never did – even when the snow was all around.
You know Charlie, sometimes I think I don’t have time to read your posts, but I do and you always make my day with your writing and your art. I love little Charlie as much as I do the (not) grown up Charlie. Thank you xx
Did I mention that your posts always make me think? They do!
I’ve never lived in an area that gets a lot of snow so I’ve only seen it a few times. I don’t remember ever trying to catch it in my mouth. I don’t remember acting SEEING the snow fall. Just finding it on the ground in the morning. The one time it snowed when I was a kid, we managed to scrape together enough snow to make a skinny snowman! lol
Your snow-eating jay is awesome!! I love your snowflakes and background, too! =)
I love it! It gets cold here in Deep South Texas but we rarely have snow. We typically have a few cold days then it gets warm again. Then a few cold days and it gets warm again. This is the pattern all winter down here. I can relate to your painting so much!
Metallic watercolor snowflakes. I so love how the metallics show on the black watercolor paper!!! Watching the amazing delicate intricacy that is a snowflake is a magical indeed!!! 🙂 PSX_20191211_104804
Have you ever gone outside on a cold morning just after a fresh snowstorm and blown on a big handful of fresh powder to watch the snowflakes fly? A childhood memory along with making snow angels, snowball fights, snowmen and skiing.
