1/29/23 Fox
We used to see a fox wandering around our neighborhood. The last time I saw him I was out in my studio and he stopped in front of the open door, looked at me and then just ambled along. That was quite awhile ago and I do miss seeing him. 1.29.23 Fox img001Mary Roff posted an update1/29/23 Fox We used to see a fox wandering around our neighborhood. This is beautiful, Mary! It’s amazing how wildlife has adapted to urban living.

Thanks, Sandra!

It’s great seeing wildlife like that. Nice painting, Mary.

It sure is, Gary, and it doesn’t happen often enough anymore where I live now.

#DoodlewashJanuary2023 prompt: Icicle.
Did you know that icicles are more common in northern cities than anywhere else? This is because the right weather conditions can occur often, and urban development gives plenty of places for water to drip.

Thank you, Victoria! Not the same Joseph. The author was born about 4 years after the soup guy died. Not sure if there is any relationship between them.

Connecting The Dots
For our prompt of “Dalmatian” today, I made a sketch of a little Dalmatian puppy. I adore dogs, and though I’ve sketched several kinds over the years,
-
What a sweet expression on this little pup!!!
-
Thanks so much, Mary! 😃💕
-
-
How adorable
-
Thanks so much, Angela! 😃💕
-
-
You nailed it Charlie with both the sketch and the description of how our pets own us. Their excitement and joy are contagious.
-
It’s soooo contagious! 😃💕 Thanks so much, Laura!
-
-
lol I love your description and I love your Dalmatian Charlie 🙂 <3. While I don't have dogs at the moment I have had several over the years and now we have cats who own us. I totally agree with you as to how the dogs likely think and that is even more so with cats I think. Cats tolerate us as long as they get what they want when they want it. Our cats get very demanding – one will lie on whatever I'm doing if I am not moving fast enough for his highness. The other is a little girl who doesn't really meow but has the cutest little trilling sound that she does – she definitely knows she is cute when she does it and fully expects results even though that hardly ever happens. lol No, I would say that it is definite that cat or dog – we – are the pets. 😉
-
Thanks so much, Zoie! 😃💕
-
-
Dogs really are an example of how overly and unnecessarily we complicate our lives! We’d do well to follow their example!
-
Yeah, I’m always reminded of how life is better when we just focus on cuddles and treats! hehe 😉💕
-
-
Great doodle, Charlie.

Thanks so much, Gary! 😃💕

Hola, mi amiga! Glad you know you’re feeling better! 😃💕 And that’s so interesting about Dalmatians… I hadn’t heard that! Sending you hugs and much love!
-
Thanks so much, Mugdha! 😃💕 Glad you enjoyed this post! And Elliott does whine… and mumble and sometimes speaks in a long series of words that he seems to think are English, but we can’t always tell exactly what he’s saying. I think the whining is cute, but Philippe works from home and it’s gotten a bit old for him! lol Much love to you! ❤️

Did you know Dalmatians were used as ‘coaching’ dogs, trained to run along side coaches and help move the crowds out of the way? That’s why they were chosen to be firehouse dogs when firetrucks were still pulled by horses.

Beautiful! Do the markers react to water for washes?
Thank you! These are not waterbrushes, so not terribly reactive. I’m still experimenting to see how reactive they might be in different circumstances.
Thanks, good to know.
