Thank you! It is a lot of fun. I got an urban watercolor sketch book for Christmas. It’s a completely different facet of art…that I also seem to love. Now if I could just add a couple more hours to the day!
Thanks, Mary. I sure wish I didn’t have the grid paper behind it. :). It was just going to do a test sketch and before I knew it, I had painted it, too. And then I knew I couldn’t get the same picture again. I have found that you (I) never like the second one as much as the first. Oh well. Next time it goes in the journal from the start.
Thanks, Sandra. The cotton paper reacts so differently. I like it, I think. But it’s a lot more “thirsty”. One thing is that it doesn’t pill as much as the paper I can buy here (in Ukraine). I can order cotton from England, but it’s so expensive and then shipping adds even more to the cost.
Those tiny tubes of Daniel Smith were expense (at least to me). $31 for six 5ml tubes. I really love the paint. I can’t believe how much better it is than anything I’ve tried. I’m a beginner, so I know I don’t have much experience with different kinds of paints. But when I can tell such a huge difference as a beginner, then it must be a LOT…[Read more]
I love the sky. I pretty much hate the rest of it. Needed more muted colors in the background trees. Needed more water in general on all the trees. But I love the sky. It was my first attempt at clouds.
