Thanks, Cindy. There are so many artists here to inspire all of us. It’s a wonderful community.
I use mostly Daniel Smith and Holbein watercolors. My favorite watercolor paper is Arches. My favorite watercolor sketchbooks are Hahnemuhle and Khadi. I have yet to try Stillman and Birn although there is one in my cupboard just waiting to be opened. I’ve used mostly Loew Cornell watercolor brushes but recently pulled out some small Kolinsky sable brushes (they were given to me by a very generous friend) and I’ve been using them to paint the small Doodlewash paintings. Love the sable brushes and have to admit now I drool over the Kolinsky brush display every time I go in the art supply store.
Wow Mary… we seem to have very similar taste. I use Daniel Smith, Holbein, Schminke, White Knights, and a little W&N. I also use Arches and do like Stillman and Birn Beta and Zeta. I prefer Escoda Reserva Kolinsky travel brushes and enjoy squirrel mops as well. I have a keen interest and broad knowledge of Urban Sketching. I enjoy traveling and sketching/painting on location. I like to work in small format…no larger than 5×7. It seems as of late that I have become a “collector” of paint boxes of many different countries/brands and I enjoy “changing them up”
