I couldn’t resist this daily challenge. #eggs. I still remember the excitement of seeing eggs in a robin’s nest when I was young. Actually, I still love it!

Thanks Alice. I usually tend to get water too dark and flat looking. I work against that!

Watercolor painting from a photograph taken along the Maine coast this past summer. When I started painting, I noticed the broken oar on one side. I was drawn to the greenish water sitting in the boat, the colorful life vest, and the fiberglass repairs done on the lower front of the boat most likely from hitting rocks. APC_0039

I love the way you’ve painted the water!

I agree with Sandra about the water. I can ‘feel’ the boat rocking in the water.

Thanks Rod. We had a Jersey cow for several years. We bought a little runt of a calf for $50 and she grew up to be a beautiful cow.

Thanks so much Pamela. I have a personal goal to get good at portraits so maybe painting animals is a good first step!

Thanks Rod. I guess everyone has their different style. I didn’t have any formal training in painting so don’t pick up any bad habits from me!

Keeping it simple with a monochromatic painting. Skip the first minute or so to get to the actual sketch/painting. Hope you enjoy!

She’s a beauty! Thanks for sharing your video.

Beautiful job Doug,,
Thanks Pam. After sleeping on it, I wish I had used a smoother paper and made the eggs smaller. I think I started it too late in the evening and wanted to finish!
I like the texture, when my hubby saw mine he said …” you should have made the eggs blue” lol..
😉
