Hello! I haven’t painted, or posted, in awhile. How I can’t find 10-15 minute per day, I don’t know, heh. Then I thought of all the things I missed watercolor doodling and how many I probably forgot about that would have enriched my wc journals, now lost to the passing of time and my inattention. So…back to it 😉 View
thanks Sandra. I was just gonna email you! I mailed your package with all the paper samples in it. I’ve already started filling my palette with new paint! Hehehe. (shocker, right?) I’ve gotta get more glue to glue the magnets on the half pans to finish though. Have a great weekend, don’t work too hard, hopefully the pkg won’t take too long to arrive. :o)
well since you do love sketchbooks, so far I have to recommend Hahnemühle’s greybook. The paper is SO smooth. BUT if you really want to watercolor in it (not just watercolor pencils and a small brush to slightly wet the marks and smooth stuff) then you’ll have to go Strathmore new toned multimedia paper. Oh my gosh it would be so fantastic if they made a journal or even individual sheets of watercolor toned paper! So far I’m in love with their greybook toned paper journal. It’s SOOOOOO smooth so one doesn’t spend time trying to fill all the tiny holes in the not so smooth paper. I did this one in Hahnemuhle greybook Stash Final

Thanks Charlie. If you want to paint on toned paper I think only Strathmore has a NEW toned paper that’s mixed media. I haven’t tried it as I didn’t know it existed when I asked for sample journals of the paper. It’s on my list to try next!
Day 73...clouds and grass.
Lol, I crack myself up. I wanted to paint clouds last night, but decided for some reason that I couldn\'t paint JUST clouds. I mean I could, but no, not what I had in mind.
So I decided on some simple grass at the bottom to ground my painting. It was supposed to be a small strip of grass at the bottom, but I got carried away. And my little foreground overtook my skyscape. Lol, very rarely does my painting turn out like I imagined. Which could quite possibly be why I love painting so much. I never know what I am going to end up with. 🙂
