It’s my delight to share with you all April Rekindle Memories gallery and stories! Thank you so much for those of you who have sketched, painted and shared your wonderful memories! Looking forward for May!
Tao, you guys were so brave! Your story feels like a thriller to me.. Wonderful detailed sketch of the lion.. he looks kinder when he’s sleepy. So glad to see your contribution again in Rekindle Memories. Looking forward for your artworks this May!
Many thanks Elisa for your lovely feedback. I have no fear when sitting watching wild animals, I never use any perfumed products when out in the wild, animals do not like perfumes that are naturally surround them. heaven helps any one that makes any noise when watching wildlife. LOL hehe
Green tea and coconut sprinkled chocolate cake, anyone?
It’s been awhile. I want to thank those of you who have joined the April Rekindle Memories! I haven’t gotten the time to comment on your artworks yet, but seeing your sketches and paintings certainly inspire me to go and make art…even if. So thank you for that. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of the…[Read more]
Happy first day of Rekindle Memories! 🌷 I saw the graceful dragonflies, flying freely up on the sky. I grabbed a loose paper and pen, observe them while my hand try to express the shape of their wings and the position of their bodies. Then I painted the sky and some foliage. When the paint dries, I painted the dragonflies, inspired by the…[Read more]
Making art depends upon noticing things– things about yourself, your methods, your subject matter. Sooner or later, for instance, every visual artist notices the relationship of the line to the picture’s edge. Before that moment the relationship does not exist; afterwards it’s impossible to imagine it not existing. (Art and Fear)
Challenged myself to use brush pen with ink to sketch these portraits. Suddenly, the ink run out. I used a bottle of chinese ink and dip the brush pen with it. Slower progress but works as good. ☺️ #OneWeek100People2018 #rekindlememories
Portraits inspired by Life with Beans: https://www.instagram.com/chloeandbeans/
Sketched some portraits inspired by the photos from Humans of New York. I challenged myself to sketch each portrait around 3 minutes each. After the 10th portrait, my brain felt exhausted from (too much) looking and translating what I see into lines, shapes and volumes. Nevertheless, it was a good brain exercise… 😝 and I enjoyed the process most…[Read more]
We watched a Chinese New Year parade last weekend. There were various performances done by children, adult and senior citizens. It was entertaining and people were cheering and waving their lightsaber.. i mean light sticks. 😊 I managed to squeeze in some people sketching despite the distraction of a few curious fellows wondering what I was up to.…[Read more]

Happy 1st day of March and Rekindle Memories, my friends! I painted this air plant called Cotton Candy (fancy name!) owned by my husband’s niece. They got themselves some air plants after I raved about how awesome they were 😉
I recorded the painting process and I’m happy to share it with you all. I enjoyed using my new Escoda Ultimo brush in…[Read more]
One artist friend made me realize that Rekindle Memories is more than just a sketching and painting our memories. Her few words reveal so much more and I’m thankful for the 7 days (or more) when we get to “gather”, savor, create, and inspire or shall I say, spur one another in the reward (and challenge) of art making.
I can feel your excitement on your new sketchbook. I really like how you used your creativity on the first page by using tea bag! The added graphic patterns are so interesting. I also like the shine on the girl’s hair. Thank you for sharing this wonderful memory of art making with us. Keep up the awesome work, Dominik!
