Hi!
I have a large foreground area of pebbles to paint. It is a commission and the recipient wants the same composition as the photo so I can’t restrict that area as I would normally do for a more interesting scenery, What technique would anyone recommend? I have tried to use coarse so far and it’s not too bad. I was just wondering if there was a more efficient way of working?
Many thanks in advance,
Flo
Rough paper probably works well. You can get away with giving detail to a few key areas and just suggesting the pebbles elsewhere. That is actually closer to the way the eye sees, and so much easier to paint.
Many thanks, Sandra. I will try that. I’ve used coarse salt in my previous attempt but the area is too large and it looks more like a textured mass rather than pebbles.
Good luck!
