Thank you, Laura! I like the shapes you get lurking in the background with this technique. I’ve been known to go the gesso route sometimes too though!

Hi Sandra! I’m back from vacation and the pans were sitting out on my desk drying for a week. It’s been in the 100’s here — the air conditioner is set on 81 but the office where my desk is gets up to 85 most days — and I’m super happy to report that they rewet just fine!!! YEAH!!!! White irises, 39 x 30 cm, 15.3 x 11.8 in, Canson Fontenay CP paper, 140 lb (300 gsm). A more loose style without getting into the details too much. In order to achieve really strong light shining through the petals juxtaposed very dark and light tones. White petals were created by leaving the whiteness of the paper.
