Jennifer Roberts replied to the topic Finding a replacement for W&N Cotman Ultramarine half-pan in the forum Art Supplies You Use 2 years, 8 months ago
Well it just so happens I have both of these paints in my stash. (From the time I sort of accidentally won an ebay lot auction of over 50 W&N paints….) I also have a Cotman 12 half pan set that I got nearly 3 years ago, and it included the French Ultramarine, so it’s possible that’s the same one?
I grabbed a little of each and painted it onto…[Read more]

Hi Trisha,
What paint are you interested in swapping from your stash? I don’t think I’ve used up any of the ones I listed originally! 😀 Is there a specific brand or color of mine you were considering?

Thank you! I try to focus on the fun and enjoying the process itself. I really do like watching the watercolor pigment do its thing.

I try to give credit where it’s due! I’m glad to have found your lessons and community early on in my watercolor adventure.

I struggled with a landscape in the course last fall too, and I did feel like I had a break through when I use my palette knife to create the mountains. It certainly would’t hurt to try, right?

Thank you! I seem to go back to a diagonal line for my palette knife abstracts time and again.

I’ve been collecting a lot of paint over my brief foray into watercolor. I would love to swap some of my duplicates with other people. I live in mid-US for shipping considerations. I would be particularly interested in trying anything by DaVinci as it is one of the few brands I have never used.
ETA: Depending on the brand, I have between 5-15ml.…[Read more]

Just chiming in to say Moonglow is such a fun color! I love to use it in abstract landscapes because of the unpredictable separation. Gives so much character! (DS Cascade Green is another favorite for the same reason.)
