The Kiss
I’m back! Three day holiday. Hoping to get time to paint this weekend. Faces have always been so difficult for me. I took a stab at today’s prompt, “kisses.” This is truly a doodle. I only spent a short time developing this painting. I need to practice creating faces. IMG_9152Jeromy Winter posted an updateThe Kiss I\'m back! Three day holiday. I love the colors. I have recently tried my hand at growing succulents. There are so many colors, sizes, and shapes. So much fun to grow and paint. 🙂

Beautiful painting. I love using pen and watercolor together. Some of my favorite art are pieces I created using the two. I find myself practicing many different techniques and styles. I wonder if I should settle on a style and finetune my technique in that form. It is all just so much fun! Thank you for sharing your beautiful art.

Cactus

As young kids, my brother and I had a little motorcycle. One time, around the age of eight, I remember riding ahead of my mom on my small motorcycle. We were riding along a thin, short ravine. I had a difficult time staying steady on the bumpy dirt road and fell down the ravine into a spiny cactus. My mom lifted me and, for many minutes, pulled cactus spines from my hands and legs. With this experience, you would think cacti would be the last thing I would want to paint. We had many other great times in the desert. One of the most beautiful places in California is the Joshua Tree National Park. We have taken our children (now teenagers) to visit the desert. Here you will see my cactus doodles, as well as a photograph of the type of cactus I remember falling into. Eye – Looking Through a Keyhole
I drew this picture as a prompt a couple of years ago. Today I developed that picture into a watercolor painting to fit the Doodlewash prompt of “eye”. I had so much fun developing the colors and textures on this painting. IMG_2547IMG_7959Jeromy Winter posted an updateJeromy Winter posted an update -

Delightful and well done! I remember them checking us out when my dad and I would sail close to shore on our little sunfish sailboat on the coast of Maine. We were close to Canada so much colder water. They are so much fun to watch.

This is wonderfully done! 😍 And love the ocean as well… wish I lived close to one!

In my journal, I painted a main picture on the right page, wrote on the left, and added a small accent to the left. I traveled to Spooner\'s Cove one day. There is a rock formation in the ocean near the beach. Many small shells can be found on the rocky beach. The second place is in Morro Bay and shows Morro Rock. I painted on a deck while having lunch, overlooking the bay and rock.
